I have W7, but didn't have any problem with either downloading it or playing at the site. Dunno why it doesn't work for you, might be your antivirus program is over reacting (ask it if it has period).

And if you look on more info about the virus its really nasty one. I didn`t belive it but after I have reinstalled windows without installing any of the Playtech, iPoker sites my computer is no longer crashing and less ports are opened. I would think twice before installing. First I thought that it was related to Will Hill sites only but with more research it turns out to be network wide issue, until they resolve that issue I am not installing any more Playtech/iPoker clients on my computer no matter how much money is on the table.
AV is not overreacting, it is not some default template trojan warning, at least in my case. My AV recognize it as "Trojan.Win32.Buzus.cuid" and in some clients as "Trojan.Win32.Buzus.cumh"
