2005 WSOP bracelet returned to sender

Not long ago, T.J. Cloutier's 2005 WSOP bracelet was for sale on Ebay. Why does someone like T.J. Cloutier who has over $10,000,000 in tournament winnings sell one of his WSOP bracelets? There were many speculations at this point. Many said that he sold it because he's running out of money due to gambling problems, when others said that he already have 6 bracelets and that it wasn't a bi[...]   Read more » 2005 WSOP bracelet returned to sender

Wuhu, someone seems to hav a serious gambling problem. When you sell something like that, you must be in a big finacial mess. Would only sell stuff like that, if my family has nothing o eat, but after 10.000.000$ of winnings! How you can be broke?

It's a shame that CakePoker helped a person who had the chance of living as a millionaire and he decided to waste it. If he is broke, he don't deserve another chance: let him sell all his belongings. It's unfair ... I have to get up every day to work and life doesn't have so much considerations with me ...

To be honest we don't know what's happening in his life so i won't blame him until i have a proof he have done something really bad.
It must be hard for him to sell it i think... anyway that's he's problems i always love to see people complain on others life ^^.

What was the point in guving it back to him? If he's got gambling problems, he's just gonna blow the money anyway

wow, they bought the bracelet and the returned to him, I don't think it was a good idea, they should have made a tournament for it.

wtf ? I think of all the options that cake poker had the possibility to do with the bracelet (have a tournament for it, put it as first prize in a long rake race etc ..) the option to give it back to an old man, who plays the most boring poker of all poker players, who havent been heard of for the last four years was the very outmost BOOORING THING THEY COULD COME UP WITH !

FAIL !

TJ said he was short so he pawned it and when he returned to pick it up, it was too late.. The pawn shop on the auction said they had another of TJ's braclets.

HE OBVIOUSLY WILL SELL IT AGAIN!

If TJ's really running out of money, then it's up to him to find new source of income. I'd think that there would be some residual income to be had from publishing rights. Maybe follow some other pro's example and market yourself (Negraneau, Duke, etc, etc). U

Well I looked on ebay a few days ago and again yesterday, I looked under closed auction and running auctions, I looked under every name possible even just wsop and I seen nothing on ebay about this bracelet, If someone has the closed page I would like the link to it, I dont think it was ever for sale on there and that rumors just swirl in the wind

Not only his poker winnings, what about his endorsements too Confused That's some serious crap to be selling a bracelet like that. I wonder how long before he puts it back on ebay again?

oh well, we can guess whatever we like, we'll never know the truth of the story probably. One thing is for sure : even with the kind of money he had won in his liketime carreer, and on top of that the no doubt countless tens of thousands for publicity he's earned himself during that year and after, don't think he cannot have a gambling problem. It's most common that people who get a truckload of money in one batch are the best victims for the gambling addiction devil. It's precisely those kind of people who very easily get hooked and who have the hardest time stopping again.

In my opinion, this seems the best guess to me. And I see that endorsed by the fact that Cake has just offered him the bracelet back. They must probably have pitied him.

Thank You, I just didnt see it there, but yes he can do what he wants with it, I heard Gus Hanson lost 3 1/2 million last year so I figured he went broke also, These guys have complexes to ahold so they play every thing there asked even if they keep losing until its all gone
