I never say mean things like donkey or retard call, and usually don't even respond to these comments on my play. I try to use his frustration to my advantage.

I don't look on the chat. Normally most of the people, that are chatting, should be banned. Nice things like idiot, f u and so on are quite normal. There is only a small amount of people, that behave normal. I concentrate on my game and that's it. When i want to chat i go on chatting-sites.

I like chat sometimes. If someone starts a convo with me for eg asks me where I'm from I'll tell them. Kinda rude not to reply. I'll say if I think a hand was played well. I'l chat about poker or unrelated topics. Although sometimes I see a conversation going on and ignore it unless I have something worthy to add. Also don't tend to chat if I'm multi-tabling. I've said before I don't see anything wrong with chat at the poker table. You'd probly banter in a casino or any live game so why not online. As long as you respect the rules. generally I would always advise to ignore bad chat even if you think you can win the argument or put this guy in his place, there's no point in getting to an insult match, it'll just distract you and add more variables to how you play. Whether it bothers you or not is irrelevant, better to keep shtum and not give any info, a sort of online poker face.

An eye for an eye for me. But most of the time i ignore people who talk crap after a bad beat because its usually just letting out their fustration. which is all the better because they won't play properly and will generally make more mistakes
I am always very friendly in chat, and I am very often the only one wishing everyone good luck at the beginning of a tourney. People just aren't as friendly as in the past anymore, and in play money games they are MUCH more friendly. I will NEVER say something unfriendly or call names. I just HATE people doing that, especially when they're just sore losers. After all, you never know who you're talking to. Maybe it's just a newbie trying to learn, and then start calling him names doens't help much, we all had a time we needed to learn the game, and you can really hurt such persons if they just try their best and don't make the right moves. I CAN - and do that very often - however get really mad at people who call others names and want to intimidate others (not just as a strategy). I will always defend the underdog then. More people should do that, I feel. And we should keep things friendly at the tables, it's much more fun, and that way, you can get to know much more about someone than being harsh and unfriendly, and that helps to in playing against them.

If I play when I am drunk, then I trashtalk a lot, but normally I just ignore the chat no matter if the chat is about me. I dont want to be distacted by the chat and anyways you dont win by being the best chatter

Most of times i ignor it, because, in order to keep focused on the game, i open anything else on the net and only look at the table when is my time to play, this way i am not influenced by chat or by someone who is just robbing. My strategy have been working, once i now am building a nice bankroll at Noble. Lets see if it will be this time that i am going to get to my main objectif!
I used to have chat enabled, but I found that some people just need to be assholes regardless. I find thst now that I have chat disabled, I focus on the game a lot better due to ledd distractions.

I don't mind other people in the chat box insulting or anything, and most of all, I don't even try to explain my play when I am the rant target. Sometimes I rant just for the kick of it, so that people think I'm tilted or something.
