Is Poker a game of stratehy osr simple Luck? Well It is both, you need good starting hands, when to raise or not and some luck to finish in the money.What is your opinion?

No, I think poker has both luck and skill, obviously skill overrides luck, but you all know that luck has a big part in poker. You won't win any big MTT ex. WSOP WITHOUT getting lucky.

If only luck, we would not have pokerpros, who become and stay famous. With luck we would have new faces on the WSOOP every year. In other words, Tiger Woods is not lucky, he is just good.

I think it is a luck skill ballence you need to get great graphs like that one. Skill can get you to the end of a tourny but luck can keep you in a tourny. Wich is better? Being skill full and being knocked out by a lucky guy OR being lucky to servive a few 50/50 hands and using skill to take a tourny down? You can say its 100% skill but it clearly isnt. Bad beats are true / a fact / they really do happen. AA looses to 23 KK looses to 72o it go's down....... Skill should be the over riding factor for a poker carrier for sure but every one needs a little luck if only for that time there skill doesnt match up to there ego! You can beat skill but you cant beat luck....... If you could by a skillfull luck juggler then that would be the best option for a poker player. Lucky skill bullet dodger.

Well i dunno if this guy was about DoNs, didnt read the thread, only saw this guys graph on 2+2 and posted it on here
Anyway for cash its the same, there is offcourse luck but winning players at their stake will be up up up in the long run no matter wot, if they try a step higher and move on higher stakes they can be losing players so their u go, they dont have enough skills to play them Poker isnt bout luck (yes with a small sample size it is), poker is skill only skill.

It's about 65% skill and 35% of luck, as i did read somewhere. Even bigesst pros cant win everytime, but in long term they always have a profit, thats most important.
