Unbelieveble: I was following it on an italian blog and I was astonished to read this news. Only one question: sholudn't have been guaranteed players safety ??
Did they ever catch the group that did a heist in Monaco recently? If not, I'd say the odds are pretty good that they are related. I guess event organiser's are going to have to rewiew their security and beef up measures.

crazy i just seen it on the news. you mean in malta, psycokiller ? or was there another rob in monaco? im also curious if they catched them. not sure if its worth to do such big robbery now a days. in big citys theres cameras all over the town, confidants etc. earlier or sooner they get you...

unbelievable, but if this tournament got that big and the security didn't then they were just asking for it. Probably a big advertising about the prize money in germany and someone got greedy.

This is another sign of how bad the global economic crisys is being world wyde. Can you imagine someone going to the point of planning to enter in an internacional event, covered by lots of TV's, just to pick a big bag full of money? It has to be desperate people! And positive analysts only point the resolution of the crisys to2013, now think what negative analysts say...

omfg... thats crazy .i cant imagin what was going through those guys heads when it all kicked off thats got to be one scary thing. Dont know if id want to stay and finnish the game...lol no i prob would. at least it would take away some of the tention. i doubt this has anything to do with the global crysis. desperate people go rob a gasstation or something. this guys had kalashnikovs (according to the witnesses). they were professionells in my opinion...in and out.

check the players that went out in the tourney early, they wanted to win so bad and when they took that bad beat that took them out they went and got some friends to go still it, who else is really going to kno that much money would be there if they were not involved in poker somehow. thats my prediction

Seriously, must have been someone on the inside, unless the money is just lying there, displayed in full view, like at the end of the final table. Security is surely going to be beffed up now.
