What makes it even worse is the fact that Gus Hansen had absolutely no draws or anything and still he couldn't lay down his hand. The bluff costed Gus Hansen around $100,000! However, its for sure not the last time we see Gus H[...] Read more » Video: Gus Hansen's worst bluff ever

dozn01 is right. I dont think its too bad either. Everyone knows that guess is a loose aggressive player. So he has got a high range.
KQ,KJ stuff. pockets like 99 and even suited connectors like 34 or something like that. He tries to use this so his opponent gives him a hand.... Unfortunately, Elezra doesnt

OMG! I love this guy though. Read his book "All hands revealed". Incredibly interesting stuff. A bit too crazy for me, but I picked up a lot of his thinking and made 1st in a 5000 runner tourney the week after. So It's not ALL crazy! This bluff was though....

I agree with Doomdy, even if he won the pot I think Elezra played worse than Gus; he is only check-calling not protecting his toppair (with bad kicker) and still check calling postriver with second pair the strong hansen Cbets... but maybe he had some very good reads on Hansen to pplay that way

First, I wouldn't call it the worst bluff ever. He did make good bets, but unfortunately the river card was a bad one. 2nd wasn't wise to do it against Elezra, a loose player that like to gamble.

lol im surprised no one has said this is just donk wars as most people on BRM only play As and Ks if this was someone from the forum thats what would be said. and i dont think elezra played it bad i think hes sure gus dont have a K and if gus wants to keep firing let him plus if he reraises and gus comes back over the top he has to fold i think hes wanting to just call him to the river because he thinks his Ks good. and another thing as gus says in the interview when he bets the the 60k on the river if he has the K its a split pot so of course elezra is calling anyway and alot of people here is saying its a good bluff, gus says himself it was a really bad bluff

ive just watched it again and i think gus did this just for tv, and to prove to the other pros that he can bluff, so next time they are in a pot with gus they will be thinking is he bluffing like he did with elezra?? hmmmm..... but hes holding the nuts......... call him next time and find out...

this could be good tactics
i dont think so because he walks away from the table and says it was such a bad bluff and laughs and says he could get bad bluff of the year but hmmmmm u might be right he maybe just thought he will give 95k away to elezra for table image because hes going to be bluffing alot after that, im sure that was not his plan.
One thing is for sure phil ivey is playing s**t hot his steal with the 72 was nice

I don't agree. In flop, when Gus tried to bluff and he was called, at that moment he was unlucky. It was clear Elezra had something. Turn didn't help Gus so ... why still going on with your bluff? No draw at all ... just a very bad bluff. You can take in account you are not playing for $1
