Takes lots of work and variance is bigger plus if youre just beginner, they probably eat you alive at big tournament, but in experience collecting way its good

I see myself as a pretty good poker player at tournments, cash and sitngo's. I have cashed a gozillion of times and wanted to try a shot at a bigger tournament. But 200$-500$ is too much for me, so I was wandering if I should try to win a satellite.

Hi iputonak .
Satellite players in big tournaments means easy chips for the ones who play it regulary. Be carefull. But is the only way for players like us to play in a big buy-in.

Satellite players also mean easy money for satellite grinders. A good way to build a bankroll is to register for a satellite, cash and not play the bigger tounrament. Usually people who play satellites are way over their heads and are not very good players. If you are a more-than-decent sng player you can make a good profit there

It takes a lot of time to win in a satellite game and if you manage to get a ticket for a monthly million for instance, you still havent won money. So you might play 10 hours to get nothing. The players have often good reading skills and you might end up folding too much. It's worth it to get experiences but you also need luck to get itm. I'd say give it a shot from time to time so you don't get frustrated but your main task should be the cash games cause you can win constantly there.

If you are trying to play the SUnday Million at Pokerstars, i'd definitely recommend you to play the steps. You need to get to level 4, to get the entry, and that's not too hard, should make it with couple of tries. And it's also a good way to keep up your VIP status. The first step costs 7.50$ Sooo.....good luck

Look for sattelites with a large "entry" percentage. On FT tonight for example, you can play a sattelite for the Double Deuce (++$200.000). 300 go through out of about 2000. Sattelites where only 1 or 2 places go through can make you NUTS! Haven't played the double Deuce yet, so don't know what the competition is like, but pretty good players I think. Good luck!
