I find it really confusing how many genres of music there are today. You can't just have hip hop, Rnb, drum and base, garage anymore. All these genres which at one time didn't have enough artists to separate themselves are now split into several genres and even have club nights dedicated to each sub-genre. It's mad.
I personally like all types of music and hate the genre system. I don't like to classify my music. I know what I like and what I don't. I don't know the difference between grime, crank, bitpop and thrash. I only know if I like it.
But I believe dubstep is from British garage music and the Streets first album broke waves in that genre. But that sounds nothing like your vid so I don't know.

What you say is really true, but i think that if u like an artist, its more likely that you like other artists that make same kind of music and thus that you like a certain structure of music ('structure' is not the exact word because its seems that it close music, but my english is not so good sorry). But you are right with the fact genre blocks people : problem is that many just stick in a genre of music because they want to be in the move and they reject other style even if they in fact like it (its like : 'oh god its rock'n roll, that sux...' he say that and didnt even listen 1 sec of the music...).
And indeed, there is a certain evolution between the first dubstep stuff and the actual dubstef stuffs !
Yea i love dubstep, its gotten pretty big in the rave scene in the UK these days... theres plenty of gd artists out there, but my personal faves right now are prob Caspa & Rusko... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZQw4ki5-Ls
