hello i was on April 12-th WCOP qual . 29 start top 3 goes to next round i just finished 21 its sad for me
we play and i had Q9 flop comes and Q 9 10 was here i just push all in all fold and one Finland call me he had A Q great call for him because i easy call to ( if i not push all in he will do that because he play very agressive ) i had about 3.7 k he was on 5.3 k so if he loose he will have some to surveyve thenturn 7 its good for me and river 10 i say yes but only for 1 sek in over sek i saw i loose omg its just party poker kidding on me yes he kidding all day big looses comes on rivers for me at this day then i was on the leading hands
so after that i just sit and watch the game yes this finland claim top 3 and take histicket but 3 hands from looser he won on the rivers so its poker gods was with him all the game
its only stupid thing was then top 10 final table starts its 5 players not active so why they miss his chanceto win big ? i never do that

You had a bad day... I know this kind of river beats, especially on Party Poker.
Recently I played my Q-10s and flopped a 9-K-J. I'm on first position and check, second player raise, third player call, I re-raise. The second player re-raises all in and third folds. I thought probably a split pot and call. Turn comes 7, River comes J and I lose against a full house cos player 2 had trips 9 at the flop. He was lucky and I lost... Just loving Party poker bad beats
Neither of you did anything wrong. top pair top kicker cant lay down a hand when only 3 outa 30 pay. you gota take risks to win a tournament like that.

Kinda depends. You were clearly favourite when you pushed. he needed one of three 10s or three aces or runner runner. But if you played or bad or not is hard to say.
Firstly as shokaku said how did you see the flop? It's not too bad to call preflop for the right odds but q9 in early position isn't very playable. Next question what was the size of the pot when you pushed. If you pushed with a very small pot then you're more likely to get called by dangerous hands and you could be risking your chips in a race for nothing. There are better opportunities as long as you are not short-stacked or desperate for chips. If however the pot was big enough to steal although that's not what you're doing, then you probably played right to get rid of drawing hands. Also depends if there was a flush draw on board. If the flop is dangerous and you have enough chips or the pot is no big win then there's no point playing dangerously. Quite simply, if there's a fair chance you could get knocked out then it's better to keep your chips safe unless you're committed or the odds are too great to miss. This is the difference between normal cash tables and tourneys.
yes you did play the hand stupid pushing all in with two pair with a board like that ,Q 9 10 the other player could be easy be holding , KJ J8 maybe flush draw, even trips, was there a raise b4 the flop? was you big blind small blind?
if the flop wasnt a runner.......... may be a flop like Q 9 3 rainbow then i could understand pushing all in, but like i said not on a flop like this stupid play
I would put in a tester bet to see where i were in the hand, he might of pushed all in and you would of folded, woundnt you ????? cause i would playing like this would of saved you some chips

I would not have pushed with Q9 i would have been a bit scared of the KJ if he reraised me there, its a scary flop and to early to get mixed up with a mad man and also why did u have the Q9 anyway but as it happened u were unlucky but if u just folded it ur tourny would not be on the line
Agree ... you were too inconcious pushing with that flop. But, after all, it was a good movement becuase your advantage was significant. Pity of that ten doubled ...

You two do it right. Your push is correct and his call too. Bad luck in the river with that 10, nothing to do. Maybe i play slow that flop, but if the other is as agressive as you say..

I don't think you played stupid, I would just be more careful in a tourney where there are so few runners and especially so many not even showing up. You want to make the final 3, even with 1 chip left.
You were unlucky though, I hate those paired boards that take one of your pairs out on the river.

You have to assign a hand range to the guy, assess what the action was pre flop, if there where any raises pre flop, if so bad play to continue with Q9, but you say the guy is agressive so I doubt then that there was no pre flop action but without a full hand history we will be speculating.
But lets say everyone limps and you all see the flop, the flop is very wet, 2 pair you have to see what hands beat you here,
Dont think you played that bad but sounds like you did not give much thought into the situation, next time look for a reason not to shove, if you cant find one then shove.

happen to me too like yesterday the card were always good for other exept for me that happen some day cards running great for us and others its impossible to win a hand
its sad for me
