Hi
I've been told that it is illigal to play online poker in Denmark ?? I've posted an aff link in danish forum, and are really getting yealled at! Is that true ? Is there someone here who can explain this to me...? thx

When it comes to online poker - no, it's not illegal in Denmark. You just have to remember to pay taxes if you play on non-EU based sites (there are some kind of advanced rules though, but in general it shouldn't be illegal).

yes it's allowed to post on that forum thats not why... but some other users tell me that it's not legal to play here etc... 1 was ready to sign up, but got spooked by the other users! I know that a while ago, the court said that poker is hazard and is not allowed outside the casinos... but i'm not sure about online poker ?? Any danish players here who can help me out ?

hehe i'm not paranoid I play allot and don't really care what they say... I personally don't think anyone get busted for playing online poker in Denmark! but i'm just looking for a good answer for those who dont really know the rules here!

The danish Tax minister said in a television program aprox 3 weeks ago that online poker is legal and they have no plans of changing that. They can't make it illegal since it violates EU laws. Right now for example germany is being charged by EU because they have made it illegal. If Denmark makes poker illegal an other EU country (the 1 your pokersite is based in) will miss some tax money and in that way danish laws would make a countries income smaller. You can see on SKAT's site what are required of a pokersite for it to be tax free for danes. The pokersite must be licensed and regulated by approved gambling authority in EU (I think it's called a License 3)

I don't think it's illigal and if it is, no one probably cares about it.Just play on and if you get trouble you will notice it yourself.They are not gonna put u in jail or anything...

it is not illegal to play online poker in Denmark just be careful you dont get caught cheating using illegal programs and stuff because i heard they are trying to crack down.
I play allot and don't really care what they say... I personally don't think anyone get busted for playing online
