Big Smile Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Chapter One – Beyond Beginning Poker Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Big Smile

When we start playing poker, we realize that it actually is a quite easy game. You just have to memorize the value of the poker hands and you are ready to go. But “from the expert’s point of view, the veneer of simplicity that deludes so many players into thinking they’re good is the profitable side of the game’s beauty. A bad poker player doesn’t realize he is playing bad, “losers in poker return to the table over and over again, donating their money and blaming their losses on bad luck, not bad play”.
When me and my friends started playing poker, one of them paid 3 raises, with nothing, and we asked him “Why did you pay that dude?”, and he answered “ I thought he was bluffing”. A very good thing he was considering the aspect of the other player play, but he forgot that nothing against nothing it is not a good profitable play.
“Expert players do not rely on luck… They use their skills to minimize luck as much as possible… Beginning poker players rely on big hands and lucky draws. Expert poker players use their skills to minimize their losses on their bad hands and maximize their profits on their big hands.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up The Forms of Poker Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

“Poker is a generic name for literally hundreds of games, but they all fall within a few interrelated types”. During this summarize I will try to write only about Hold’em.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Poker Logic Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
“Poker logic is not tricks and ploys… Nor is poker logic purely mathematical. Knowing the mathematics of poker can certainly help you play a better game. However, mathematics is only a small part of poker logic, and while it is important, it is far less important than understanding and using the underlying concepts of poker.”

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up The Object of Poker Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
Whether you play for fun or not, the object of poker is only one: make money. Doesn’t matter if you playing against relatives , friends or unknown people at the internet, “when the cards are dealt , you are no longer a grandson, a friend, or a nice guy; you are a player”.
“To say a poker player is out to make money does not necessarily mean he is out to win pots”. Of course you can’t win money at poker without winning pots, but if you try to win every pot, you will be losing more money than winning. So “the bets you save are as important as the bets you win… Ideally you want the pots you win to be as big as possible and the pots you lose to contain nothing more than your ante.”
“A good player develops the patience to wait for the right situations to play a pot and develops the discipline to release a hand he judges to be the second-best.”
While playing you must realize that “each individual game is part of one big poker game… you must think in terms of your win at the end of the year or the end of the month”.
“You must be disciplined enough to play every hand correctly, regardless of how you are doing… you should not allow the fact that you are winning or losing to affect your decision to stay in or quit a game”. If you are favorite than you should stay, If you becomes an underdog, winning or losing, you have to quit. When you are an underdog? When you realize there too many player better than you, you are asleep, you are thinking about your girlfriend may be cheating at you, you are sick and stuff that distracts you. Remember “ if you have the best of it, you will win in the long run just as surely as a roulette wheel win for the casino in the long run.
