sorry im just a bit pissed off at the moment and wanna get this off my chest. no one will care what i gotta say here, but it will make me feel better. just been playing this R10k guaranteed on 3piggs (all local south african) and I went for being 4th in the tourney, with 35 people left, top 10 pay, to going out 30th in about consecutive hands 10 hands.
these 10 hands are as follows
1: QQ raise 4x to 800 guy ships for 4k, I snap call, he has 66, flop K K 10, turn 3, river 6
ok fine he sucked out big deal it happens
2: 47offsuit, i fold
3: 92off, fold
4: 10 10, raise 4x to 800, 1 caller, flop 2 6 9, guy ships for 3k, i call he has 66 and flopped his set
ok starting to tilt now
5: guy in late position raises 3x, sitting with Kc9c, and I call. flop is 4c 10h Ac, i check, he bets pot, i call, turn is 7c, i bet 3/4 pot, he ships i snap call WITH THE NUTS, he turns over 4d 7h river comes 7 giving him FH.
6: 84off i fold
7: AdQd, 5x raise, 2 callers, flop is AQ5, i check, caller 1 ships, caller 2 folds, i snap call, he has 44, turn 10 river 4
8: JJ folded round to me, i just ship with a couple people behind me still to act, BB snap calls and he has QQ
end of tournament...
thats how amazingly 'good' i ran this tourney. after grinding away and building my stack my nicely to losing it all in a few efing hands

S**t happens
I've had more bad beats than i can remember. I went out on the bubble last night in an 800+ person $3 buy in. I had 4 bad beats and that took my chips down about 6000 with average chips stack at 15k.
120th place is paid out. 121 left in tournament. I'm on the button holding AsKs. Everyone fold except monster stack. He calls the BB. I raise half my stack and he re raises me all in. He has 2s5c ....
The cards fall:
9h 6h 3d / Js / 2c ....
I lose and go out of tourny 121st place
How would you guys play that hand, would you go all in like i did or would you sit on the bubble until you are in the money? My opinion is i can't miss that oppertunity to play a good hand even though it's a risk on the bubble.

i think if i was that close on the bubble i would prob fold, no infact i would ship it i want to win not just cash but depends what the blinds were like but i guess about 800 to a 1000 at least. like what happened to u happened to me last week with AQ. i could of waited but i may have got nothing and i need to make a move soon so at least have a decent stack for people not to call u with any old crap, the big stack at the table called half his chips with 6s and i hit nothing. I dont know if u want to win the tourny u have to ship it if u want to cash fold. I think if i was u there i would have just pushed all in not just raise because it looks more scary to call, he may have thought u were stealing and thought im goin to reraise and even if u call and u have AK its still a 40% chance of winning. he may have called anyway but if im short 8 to 10 bb just ship it because u cant really fold i u miss take it to the river baby. better luck next time GL
Bubble play is odd . I would probably fold, because i feel that earning that one more place and paying out is probably worth more than the chips i could pick up.
I am only this tight when there is just one player left. If there was 5 i just straight ship it as long as i have <10 bb.

You are correctly playing if your target is to get in the money but If you aim for big prizes you can't fold AKs even if the bubble is going to burst in one hand or two
If you notice i am running a fine line between the two. Im aiming for maximum profitability which i think is all poker players goals. I will aim for first place and will often go out near the bubble. But with one player i think you increase your profitability overall by folding. but meh

Yeah i should have pushed all in but he was the type of player who would have called me anyway. I wanted to make it seem more legitimate by raising, as raising usually means you are looking for some action/callers. Shipping all in is usually a bigger sign of having a fairly good hand and not wanting someone to call you so you can steal the high blinds.
Thanks for the advice. I'm playing in the WSOP qualifier scratch ticket freeroll tonight. Hope to see some of you there
