Hello guys,
I was the bubble boy last night on the Cash Crazy $33 at Celeb Poker After going through 383 players there are only four left. I was the chip leader with 240k, opponent one had 85k, opponent two had 150k and and opponent three had 125k I think. Ante 200 Blinds 1k/2k My last four hands:
1 my cards - Q Q action - I raise 12k on SB and opponent one goes all in on BB. I call... board - A 3 J K 7 result - He had A K and beats me with two pairs, Aces and Kings for 85k. I'm left with 155k.
2 my cards - 10 10 action - I raise to 10k on the button and opponent two re-raises to 14k on BB, I re-raise to 44k and he goes all in. I call... board - K 8 8 A 6 result- He had J J and beats me with top pair, Jacks for 150k. I'm left with 5k.
3 my cards - 5 8 action - I fold UTG.
4 my cards - A 7 action - I go all in on the BB, opponents one and three call. board - 10 9 5 Q Q result - Opponent three had 8 7 on SB and wins the hand with flush on the flop!!! Opponent one mucks and I became the bubble boy... All other tree players split the prize, 11$ each.
I think I played correctly, what do you guys think?
I think you may have overplayed TT. If i get reraised and im holding TT i hope to play a flop and at least get my cash in as an overpair. Its difficult being so short handed though
I would of also shoved 5c 8s. I prefer to always raise from anywhere besides the BB and with 2 1/2 blinds left i will shove and hope. I am suprised by how often the BB folds even to such a small raise.
There really may have been nothing you could have done to get away from it because of how short handed it is. But those are my critiques with hindsight

def over played 1010 and it's important to think about chip equity when you're playing games with even prizes and you're on bubble. Remember, 3rd is as good as 1st. Just like a DoN. Easy fold with the 10s (as apposed to re-raises AGAIN and calling all-in) at best you're hoping for a coin flip and that isn't longt-term EV+ in a game where you are bubble and all prizes are even.
First hand you had to call. I suspect you tilted with the 10s and screwed up hours of playing for that moment.

i agree Qs is a call tens u always have to be carefull cant tell how many times ive over played 10s and ran into a bigger pair they seem to be a maganet for Ks, my advice is never risk ur tourny on10s i mean what are u facing in an all in, ur wanting the guy to have an under pair but in an all in thats not that common

unlucky m8 especially with Q's hard to fold at that point and 10's was unlucky 2 maybe you should of just called his reraise its hard to say lol better luck next time
I actually thinks the guy with AK in the first hand is crazy going allin preflop with nothing but Ace high. Calling is of course justified but he's risking his tournament life without a hand

Posted by $k: how did u boulble with 4 left and 383 entranys that wired with that number 38 people shout of been paid
nope, they game on Celeb Poker, $33 freeroll, no matter how many entrants payout is always 3 places of $11
They actually not bad games, as half the field or more sit out the entire game. But if you get some celeb points, you pay like 5 points for a $40 game or 10 points for a $200 game and its a really small field and really soft..

Being chip leader by quite a huge margin, you get zero equity getting involved in big hands let the others fight the third spot out, QQ play was fine, would have got out of the way with 10 10 on the bubble, to risky, 3 rd hand unlucky you where short here.

I agree with satim here. You were well ahead, and taking the risk with TT on the bubble is really really not worth it. Who cares if you end up 3rd? I fold and let the others fight it out.

A lot of people raise all-in with AK and with QQ you have to call but in the second hand you must have folded. Why to play in the bubble with TT in an all-in pre-flop for 97% of your stack?
