I think an HUD is very important if you play +NL50. In microstakes don't need nothing but now, in NL100, i can't do nothing without one. I use HoldemManager.
Well if they were perfect everybody would be using them, but remember that in a live poker game, these software are useless so....it's a big no for me!! Tried them, hate them

I think Holdem Manager or Pokertracker 3 is really helpful. It lets you see all of your stats (how often you raise, how often you limp, etc), and it also lets you keep track of your winnings.
