Hi y'all Mobsters. I've been reading lately many articles about strategies in magazines, and especially what techniques the pros put in their game... Vanessa Rousso insists on putting way too scientific pieces of the "Game Theory" in her game, taking Limp/Raise ratio into consideration. Negreanu and Lindgren could swear in the name of "SmallBall". Tight-aggressiveness, loose-aggressiveness and all that are ideas to be put into consideration and action when planning a poker strategy. The pros say it all the time that "The times are changing", meaning that what was a good strategy 5 years ago is now way surpassed...
I'd really like to hear about how deep thinking do you put in your game... do you find yourselves more adjusting to the other player's game (especially in HU) or do you have your own firm strategy that you keep during the game and play only according to this? I've tried a couple of times to play ONLY THE PLAYER, like I didn't take a peek at my pocket cards... it was a tough one though!...
Basically, I'm willing to hear about the changes or not in the style of the more experienced players that play more than a couple of years, but every statement and game plan is welcome...

hmm, I'm with you in this one... low limits need TAG for sure, with all the calling stations and maniacs... I think low limits are in fact a good place for experiments and changing gears, just to see the reactions of the other players...

I feel its good to start with a solid stratergy but you also need to be able to adapt to the game and the other players as the game goes on. I will oftern sit back and only play premium hands at the opening of a game but if the table is very tight and there are many small pots i'll switch very soon to a more aggressive stance, as im sure many people would. I will also watch the big stacks on other tables in the same tourny (if im not multi tabling) Just to get a insite to w=how they are playing... watching a big stack for me is all about getting doubled up as soom as possible if either im moved to there table or vice versa, i find when a big stack moves they wont wait to see how others are playing but continue to bully . Any way i digress... constantly adjust to the table and players... thats my stratergy, try to see what they are doing and counteract it.

well said i always play and ajust to the table because other good players will with u, i think u always have to mix it up or good players will take advantage if u dont and its another reason u never show ur cards

TAG is probably the best strategy for low limit, intermediate players. If u continue to study, strive to play your best game every time u play, stay off tilt and practice bankroll management, your game(skill) will improve.

That's really good strategy.. never so far thought of doing this but I'll give it a try... thanx for the tip!
@Flippedchips: I totally agree... I never ever show my cards
Low limits (1$ - 11$) TAG Middle limits (11$- 109$) situational, some LAG plays and TAG on loose table High Limits(109$+) i don't know but LAG must be doing good cause the players are better at reading so if you know good post flop play you should do good.
Hello all!! This is a really interesting concept. Three-way chess. It’s not one of those Vulcan chess variations, but simply chess for three players. The game gets a thoughtful little rundown here, but the reason I post it is because of the comment with the heading “My friend has this, we play”, the contents of which made me laugh so much I had to have a little rest afterwards.
(Don’t bother looking for it–the guy said “My friend had this, we play all the time. It is ball-deep awesome.” (Update: Since I wrote this, the term ‘balls-deep x’ has become so commonplace that I’m shocked I ever found it amusing. Everything changes so fast, dunnit?)

I 95% play TAG. I think this is the best way to learn the game and best way to make some profit for beginner poker players. The 5% i dont play TAG is just in a HU pot against a reg, when i know they can laydown i often bet to test the water.
