Daniel Negreanu, the canadian PokerStars Pro, writes in his latest blog post that a ban of sunglasses in live tournaments should be introduced. There are probably many reasons why Daniel (and many others?) thinks that sunglasses shouldn't be allowed in live tournaments. However, these are the main reasons he is mentioning in his blog.
-Sunglasses make it easier to see marked cards

I also think it would make advantage of pros and it won't do any good... There should be tournaments with sunglasses allowed and some with not for sure not every of them.

I love watching that guy play. Incredibly intelligent. As to the sunglasses, i don't care and will not wear them. Period.

i suppose its a good rule for the pros that have spent many years perfecting the ability to be void of all emotion. It would not work to level the field any only to give the pros an advantage. So i say no to banning them as it levels the field and make for a better game with the pros stretched to there limit. Pros winning all the time will get boring for sure. Let the little man on the street have a shot at the pot.
in big local games I usually wear the sunglasses as I have a problem in hiding some of my emotions it's a part of my game i need to improve if i want to b more successfull in my live tournaments

In my opinion the sunglasses should be banned. Players who use hidden emotions and thus can benefit. If everyone played without sunglasses poker would become even more competitive in live tournaments

maybe he has a point, I'm not really sure about that. But what of players that have a habit of hiding any expression in key hands? Namely, what about Phil Laak and his "hey, I'm gonna burrow in my parka now" style?

I'm not really sure about this one, but it is true that hiding the eyes is a huge ADvantage, especially for advanced players. Ironically tho, the more advanced you are, the better yo should be able to play and thus the more you shouldnt need your sunglasses....
