I'm afraid it's the first option....
The $200 freroll is THE problem. Party sent a mail last week we could now register, but NOBODY can. Everyone gets a message saying: "Sorry! You're not invited to this tournament!"
They screwed something up setting up the tourney. We've all earned the necessary points, etc...

Okay, so we're talking about the $200 freeroll tonight - and nobody can register for it? If that's the case, then I'll ask them tomorrow and find out what's wrong, since that's of course not acceptable.

That's what people are complaining about in some posts. It's the 3dr week in a row that there has been a problem with this freeroll. Last week it didn't even appear on the tourney list at all.
$600 worth of freerolls haven't been played the last 3 weeks, and people are getting a bit pissed about it.

a freind had trouble with party poker, she scratched 3 jokers, went 2 register and they said they didnt reconise her user name or password, even though she,d been playing a few nites before!!!!!!!!!!!

You're talking about the WSOP freerolls. They have nothing to do with our weekly $200 freerolls.

If your house door is locked and you have lost the key, would you still try to open it more 1000 times or better contact someone who has the key or can unlock it?
Most of us are grown up men already. Use some brains and write a letter to BRM support then or send it to admin, theres plenty of threads where his email is up. If you have problem, write about it to admin or support - simple as that!
