I went another way...  +1
As I really screwed up on the WSOP final, I felt really bad that I didn't even win an entry ticket to a big tourney. Sad

Soooooooo....
I played the Monthly Million freeroll and got top 20 out of 1.200 to get a ticket to the next round.
Yesterday i played the second qualifier, again top 20 out of 800....

and got my entry to the MM ($640) !!!
Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

So that kind of makes up for the previous fiasco..

I know someone won one of these tickets a while back, but I can't remember who it was.
Who has played the MM and how did it go?
Is it possible to hit the money?

Why do you want to cash it? As for me it's a sign in your karma: you already won first two steps and are so close to win an important amount. Bet on yourself and play Thumbs Up Blink
Then tell us all, fo course Blink

Jack, this is really awesome man! I've been trying for this for a couple of weeks, playing the freerolls 6-7 times but never made it to the Second Qualifier so far!... I think only the fact that you got past so many many donkey-kongs Big Smile is quite an achievement by itself... I wish you the best and I'd like to hear your impressions after you play, cause I'm sure for the majority of mobsters this is the most expensive buy-in anyone has ever played...

I'd say try to get some good rest before you play, and if possible isolate yourself for the hours of the tournament. Concentrate and study the players in every hand. That's what I would do... There are some serious money on the table and the result can be life-changing, no s**t!!..
Also I'd say prepare for some very aggro players that are regulars to this tourney and deal with it like it's a 10$ SitNGo and are not afraid to bluff very hard... I believe this is the key to succeed in this... Careful at first and VERY aggressive at the later stages... Anyway, these are just random thoughts... You are there, you'll find the best way to deal with it

Best of luck - go get some cash Thumbs Up

You playing too duck_1991?

Thanks everyone for the support!
I hope to bring some good news to the BRM community, like:
"the big tourneys are cashable"!

Even if I get booted pre-bubble, I still want to experience how the second biggest tourney (after the sunday million on PS) feels, and see how it is played and how good the players are.
Must be a huge differnce from the low stakes I usually play.
I'll let you know... Blink

Thanks for the advice ILI_002 !
I'll probably play it like you said, a huge S&G.
VERY tight from the start, and loosening up as I progress, trying to avoid all-ins as much as possible.

A tip for the qualifiers:
I've made 2 of these qualifiers out of 4 so far (still have a qualifier for round 2 in my account).
I played the second qualifier the same way.

Extremely tight and carefully until most all-in and other donks are out.
Mostly "small ball" (Negreanu) tactics. This means small bets to test what the others are holding and not risking too much of my stack unless I've got the nuts, or am SURE they are bluffing.
I fold if I have ANY doubt at all, even if it looks like I might win. (ie. almost NO all-ins).
As I don't need to be first, I don't push it, and increase my stack slowly, with the occasional all-in when I'm sure.
As the blinds get bigger, steal, but you don't need to raise a huge amount to steal, just let them know (or think) you've got cards. I often see blind stealing with all-ins, but that is stupid in my opinion because you NEVER know what the blinds are holding. And it's not necessary, a small raise will often do it.
Once you're in top 20, check the blinds and the player stacks behind you to see if you can make it by folding to the end. If not, take a few more small risks, and play the clock before the bubble (about 10-20 players BEFORE the bubble), because on the bubble they stop the clock every hand and you can't run it out anymore waiting for someone else to get kicked.

I see a lot of players with huge stacks taking big risks before the bubble, and going from 4th to kicked out for no good reason....? Don't do that!

Anyway, that's my strategy for these huge turbo freerolls, and it seems to work.
Don't be afraid to fold if your instincts say you might be in trouble.
Still alive is still alive in a tourney. Blink

Don't give up, and good luck!

Congratz with your entry but don't understand this one >>>IS IT POSSIBLE TO HIT THE MONEY !!!
Why would it be impossible to hit the money ??? Aww crap!

Damn, that's awesome. It's hard as hell to win by steps when there's like 2, 3, 4, or 500 out of like thousands of people. So, that's awesome. Good job

Because I've never heard of anyone from BRM hitting the money in either the Monthly Million or the Sunday Million (PS). Confused
I'm assuming the level of play is just about the highest there is in online poker, the traps, the psychology, the agressive positional betting, etc.etc.
The payouts are HUGE.
It's just a level of play that's probably way above my head and that requires some experience in these kinds of tourneys, I just don't know.

Have you played any big money tourneys?
I'd love to hear about how it went.

------------
@ILI_002

I forgot to mention that the second qualifier plays A LOT tighter than the first one.
A LOT less donks in this one.

I made it to the second qualifier, but then it was a fiasco
it's a really hard freeroll, speed/turbo makes me go crazy

Good luck IslandJack, hope you go itm
anyways on MM there must be some donks, some very rich donks... you shouldnt have any problem I guess
Dont play ur usual game that u use on freerolls, since that will be another level of playing I believe, take alot of notes also, that will help you for sure

may I suggest you a book?
Lynch, Fleet & Turner. Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time
Basically it's a book where they wrote about their hands on high stakes tournaments and then they comment each other hand Smile

@Pitiless

Thanks for the tip on the book!
I looked it up and looks like exactly what I need.
Found it already and will read it in the coming weeks.
Thanks again! Blink

Yeah, this is really an excellent book, a step forward after Harrington's trilogy.
I've got it downloaded and started reading it a week before. Very educating stuff!
