Some of the worst players play high stakes  -1
I was playing 200 dollar sit and goes tonight on Players Only. I played 2 heads up games. The first was an absolute cake walk. Honestly, he was so bad. It was one of the easiest games I've ever played. I literally bluffed every other hand and he kept folding. He was very weak. I won the first game. So, I jumped on the rematch. Second game... it's very late, blinds are 150 300 so it's pretty heavy hands. I got A 10. Flop is A 3 6. I bet 300 he goes all in. The was he was playing made it a pretty easy call. I wasn't even worried about the kicker. Anyway... he has 2 4. What an idiot. First of all, I don't think he was even semi bluffing on that all in. I think he really wanted me to call! It's all very perplexing to me. Well, of course a 5 came on the river, but that that's besides the point! I would of played all frickin night against this fool. I would of bet 500 on me winning 8 out 10. But, he stoped after that. This isn't my first experience like this. Some of the worst players I've ever faced are playin' the 100, 200, and 500 dollar sit and goes. Funny...........

I understand this is heads up you are talking about? Sounds pretty tempting, but I have got almost no experience in that.

The times I play tournaments and end up heads up, I freeze like a deer in the headslights of an 18-wheeler. Big Smile

Besides, with those stakes I would get a nosebleed.

Have you tried full ring DoNs at that level? (If there are any.)

DoNs? What's that. I play high stakes 6 and 10 handed if that's was you mean. Ya, there's definitely an art to the sit and go. I'm a profit tourny player, but a pretty sub par cash player. I really like sit and goes because it doesn't take long to know your opponents style/ personality. If you've played enough people you can start to bracket these guys. You just gotta play to there weaknesses. Bad players actually play there cards; well, you know what I mean. Just play against what you think your opponent has and you'll be good. If you freeze up, play at some low stakes where you don't really care if you win or not and try out some new moves. Try things like callin' down with s**t when you think your opponent has nothing then go on top on the river. Or, straight up bluff's to the river. If you think your opponent is chasing, give him mid level bet on the flop and turn and bet big on the river; if you think he didn't hit. These are just two tiny tips. But, it's things like these that you gotta get good at before you can make any kind of profit. Practice these things and you'll get better.

A really good post. I will read this again and think it over. I belive is just that kind of moves that I am lacking. I see them performed but haven't gotten round to trying them myself. Thanks!

DoN is short for Double or Nothing.

100 200 and 500... I don't understand your question.

So few days ago you wrote a thread where you told you bust your bankroll, and now you play high stakes already? Can you add a screenshot?

I was telling a story from 3 years ago. And, the one where I recently bust... That, was on the 50 free no deposit. I just deposited a new 22 and have just grinded it out. I went from 22 to 40 in like 2 hours. Than to 72 in another 3 hour session. Next day, I went from 72 to 110. Then 110 to 130. Then, 130 to 200. Then, I wavered around for awhile. Got, to 240. Then one a 50 sit and go and went to 400. Then I Played a bunch of high stakes and am at 700 right now. But, this is all on Players Only. I have a Poker Stars account that is more substantial. That's my real account. My Players Only account I'm just f**king around with. Hopefully I don't bust. I'll probably withdraw 500 of it tomorrow. The terrible 4400 dollar bust of 3 years ago was when I went ridiculously high too fast and lost it all. I normally play semi high stakes. My bank roll management isn't great. In fact, it's not very good. But, it is a lot better than it used to be. I took 3 years off and have gotten back into poker in the last 3 months. I'm definitely better than I used to be but still have so much to get better at. Bank roll management is my biggest thing really. When I hit the tilt mode, s**t.... I would used to say f**k it and just put it all on the line. But, I'm not doing that too much now. Don't get me wrong, I still do stupid s**t. But, it's not as bad as it used to be and it's getting better. Ya dude, I know... my posts are all over the place. But, so is poker. It brings you through many head trips...

Guess the new improved ''Flangel'' is in town Agree

Ok, I don't know what a flangel is. But, I think I was pretty clear that I've done some stupid s**t in poker, am trying to get better, and had a good day. I don't see how a condescending remark is really necessary or relevant to this matter. Unless, you just like to say condescending s**t. That's probably it.

Well, I'm nowhere near those stakes yet, and I can't play them because I follow VERY strict BR management, maybe TOO strict?
Very curious to see how levels will change as I progress.
But your post gives me some hope that all kinds of players play all kinds of levels. Blink

Ya, you're right I just made up this whole fuckin' intricate post with play by play on the hand and all of bank roll swings just to say it. Yup, my missions done. I've just said made up s**t on a poker blog. Now I feel whole and complete. And, I'm not trying to impress anybody. I simply making a point. I've had blogs where I said I did the stupidest s**t of all time. This is literally the first post I've had where I'm actually happy with my poker play. But, I guess I'm always trying to impress people.

Yes guess so....

Problem is (and i dont care), u have no roll and play high stakes, how stupid is that, and on top you brag about it, how more stupid is that?

For now its lots of brag and bull and no screenname to check on sharkscope Smile

I checked his stats for Full Tilt, and they are what he says they are.
The stakes I mean.
I posted it in another of his threads.
So I think it's NO bull.
But no BR management either... Blink

Youngbaboon on fulltilt and youngbaboon on merge. I just busted 2 200 dollar sit and goes on merge so I'm back to about 400 up on the day with cash games. I'm done for today. It says I'm about even in sit and goes on Players Only and 833 up on Full tilt. Still don't believe me? You seriously think I just made all of this s**t up? And, yes I have a f**kin' bank roll. I'm not playing with all of my money. Like I said, Players Only is a f**k around account. That's why I made a whopping 22 dollar deposit. Wow... Look at my stats tomorrow. Tomorrow night look at it. Check my stats every f**kin day if you want. . You'll see I play the games I say I do. You're the only one who seems to think it's a big deal. I don't. It's nothing to f**kin' brag about. Wowwww a 100 dollar game. Thousands of people do that s**t every day. I have for years. Do you? By the way what the f**k is your username/ network? What's your claimed to fame. Lets' see what the f**k you do? It's probably not that interesting or impressive. I'm making f**kin point in a blog and keep seeming to think I'm making it up. That's what you do. Congratulations! I don't know if you read my "A good jerk off after a bad day of poker" thread. I was really bragging there. I was trying to impress everyone with my superior play.

U said ur playin a lot SNG thats bull, just a sample size off 100 games, thats NOT even a sample size dont you think?
Thing is we offcourse like rocket storys, but its a bad example at players who play $5 SNG with a $200 bankroll who are far better then u but they dont realize cos they only see ur $100 and $200 games.

I dont brag about my scope cos there is nothing to brag about, i am just a low/middle stakes SNG/MTT who makes profit but not as much as i want (domdy - PKR).
All i say is ur a very bad example off how NOT to play poker, its no problem but players DO take you as an example off an high stakes pokerplayer which ur totally NOT.

LOL - i kile your attitude man Thumbs Up!
I do believe you that you play those stakes, wether bankroll mgment or not, i dont know.

Thing is that there are other players also who play big, and we dont brag around with it. Or if we do, we post a screenshot to prove it. I dont play sngs, but I do play 6 handed 100 & 200 pl omaha and hold em a lot.

Thing is that everyone can have one great big day, but to maintain the same level thru ages and still make profit is another thing and im not sure witch one about is this thread Blink

Now Domdy just said all that before me lol. Exactly my point! A one good day is not a good example of a high stakes player. And if its true you have few hundred games to show up, its not even a sample size!
