All of us know a lot of people for whom poker is a source of living. And do you believe that sports betting may be the same profitable for a life-long period? Do you know anybody who feeds his family just with the help of betting? Except bookmakers lol

Dont know about sports betting, but I have 4-5 friends who play in equity market and they are doing very good - one just bough himself 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser - very nice ride lol.
As for sports betting - dont have any friends. I dont play it myself as im 100% in poker

yes, because markets and poker are spheres where your own skills and personal qualities give the result, not the football team or running horse qualities.
i believe that both - market activity and poker - can be concerned a sport and a science combined, while betting is nothing more than gambling as well as casino games. this is my strong belief and i avoid gambling.

Buy some good books about professional betting, learn what is "progression", "cover betting" etc. and get your chance. I think experience is also very important thing.

I think if you were to be a profitable sports better in the long term, you'd have to have a LOT of knowledge on the sports you're betting on. Obviously dogs/horses people can get some good inside knowledge on the smaller races, that might be a little crooked.
But I think generally speaking, bookies fix the odds same way the casino has a house advantage. So for most, it probably isn't profitable.

And poker rooms also have an advantage, BUT professional gaming is profitable. I wonder if there is the same thing in betting - professional betting. With all the stuff like bankroll management, deepest study of selected sports and math, etc., etc., etc. I guess all that exists, but I never met a succesful gambler.

My wife will kill me if know i'm taking a job : gambler If you ask it's profitable ? Yes, but sometimes will be bad. I'm play at betfair, good site, and do you know about asian handicap ? the best betting models. Surely never ever any succesful gambler, nobody. So you find another job with good salary and play some betting with low limit. Feel the fun and enjoy your live. cya.

lol. thanks for an interesting reply! as for me, I still continue working as web project-manager and am not going yo bet even at "micro limit"
