Hi, I’m new to the site, as a fellow poker player and software developer, I’ve been working on a project some time now to release a program that allows you to play online poker on several rooms using your voice as you would in a real game, and so I would like to introduce it. The program is named vox4poker, and it is being developed by thevôxtools, a group of young graduates in software engineering from Spain.
Please do not treat this post as spam, the program is free and we are putting a lot of time and effort to make something that the online poker community might like, find interesting or even reject. I intend to stay in the community, and follow this post to reply any question thrown at me. If I were a user, I’d love to be informed first hand of this kind of projects.
Speaking of the program, Vox4Poker allows to play on several poker rooms (PokerStars and Full Tilt at the moment, but we are willing to include 2 more rooms in every new update every 2/3 weeks) using your voice, you can execute all the actions you could do with mouse and keyboard, although it is not intended to use it as a replacement but more to improve the experience, and be able to switch between voice&mouse or even use them simultaneously.
It is really simple to use, but we included a quick use guide with the basic commands, although most of the commands are launched by reading on screen buttons and checkboxes. To bet a given quantity, you have to say “Increase[X Quantity chips]” then “Bet” to execute the betting. But you can still stick to the fixed betting the rooms give you in form of buttons. Although it is as easy to use as reading the orders, I’d strongly recommend to play the firstly on play money tables to avoid any inconvenience.

The program looks pretty good. Although I can't see me using it personally i'm sure some people will find it useful and it seems to work 90 % of the time. I just watched the youtube vid.
I hope for your sake this isn't treated as spam. I don't think you're breaking any rules except you are not allowed to post an email address. Even if it is for a business/website it is not allowed to swap private contact details.

that's pretty cool, not something I'd use. But good idea and I'm sure there's people out there who'd love it, it's an excellent accessibility option for people with disabilities who wanna get in on some poker action.
Kudos for making it freeware.
Out of curiosity did you develop the Voice Rec API yourself? Or is there a package out there already that software devs can use for free?

#4 Thinking in the people with disabilities was one of the main targets of this group of new formation, although our first release has been more entretainment based, we will release more voice oriented apps in the future. The the voice api is one of our own, with a lot of effort invested in it!

@vortz: I notice you're not an affiliate here. Since you are marketing a poker product, why not advertise BRM since the points you generate for referrals here can be directly withdrawn for cash. Which I would imagine would go well for your project..

#7 this is the kind of feed back I like XD We are still studying ways for advertise the program, as we are not making any money because it is free. I'll drop it in the next meeting with the team, if they like the idea I'll contact BRM for it. And yesm any income generated by the program, would directly go to sustain the project.

but im wondering if im sat at home with my mates useing this program, and he said to me on one hand il go all in on that mate, but i didnt too would the program know that i didnt say all in or would it go ahead with the order of all in??
so would this program only do what my voice said no ones elses??

I guess if you don't speak loud enough or close enough to the mic you're safe in that regard, dozn01.... anyway, I'll give it a try just for kicks. I've tried playing chess on my mac by speaking moves and it just sucks, let's see how this fares

#9 The program doesen't recognize different voices, only different words. Just as #10 says, if the person speaking is close enough to the mic and says any order, the program mill catch it.

Yeah, it would be a little strange to use it while there would be some people arround you... for example, i have a roommate so it would be a little less comfortable to play using my voice it's definitely enough that he has to hear me swearing every time i got a bad beat... but it's quite interesting program..
