Rush?....or a quick bullet in the head?  0
A couple more days of this promotion, and I´ll go for the bullet. Aww crap!

Full Tilt has a lesson on Rush in the Academy.
I watched it yesterday, and they say to play your regular game, just take account of tighter ranges with your opponents.
Soooo... I did that just now for about 45min., and promptly started losing my buy-in 3 times!
How the hell can you play a game in a normal way where the game goes like:

IslandJack: AQ
Flop: rainbow 62Q
No agression, so I raise to the river...
Guy is holding QQ!

IslandJack: AK
Flop: 8AK
No agression, so I raise to the river...
Guy is holding KK!

And so on and so on..... Aww crap!

I still believe my way of playing is better, but it´s really hard staying concentrated on a game where day after day, you´re playing 300+ hands an hour!
Pfffffff!

I´ll be glad after tomorrow when this promo is over.
Rush is fun...once in a while...
But every day...it takes too much out of you IMO.

Anyone else losing it trying to make this promo? Question

I guess to such setups you will lose a lot of money in normal no limit holdem games too. Just bad luck with those hands.

Losing now yep.
Had to re-load to get todays 100 points, so now at -$55.
Kinda same situation as you.
Hands like, im on BB with 68s, flop comes 5 7 9, so i raise (to a limper on flop) he re-raises, I think best he can have here is set, so raise again he goes al in I call....shows 77..turn gives him a 5...
Had set AA hit a back door flush after he calls raises with his mid pair.
Last couple of days has done my head in, I dont have a problem with losing, but what im losing to for RUSH are hands that should nt see the flop and in no way should continue to bet on the flops were I am way ahead.
Id love to say rigged as thats how a lot of the hands iv been losing to feel.
I agree I love RUSH and wont stop playing it, but ever day, nope...ill be having a long break from it after 2moz.

I do think you should be playing your normall game just a little tighter and more aggresive.

But as for the acadamy, load of bollocs, its there to get you to play bad, so many challanges that are designed to make you lose money, I stoped it a while back now.

lol - feel some irony in the air.

Ive played in past few sessions rush, and most times ended winning few buy ins. But have to agree with you, if this was the only poker to play every day - id probably quit poker.

My advice - dot play normal game - play instead tight-agressive (unless this is your normal game lol), as rush is played by people who want fast action - nothing or everything - go big, or go home Blink Thumbs Up

Yeah i lose a big chunk of my bankroll trying to get to hit the silver promotion (100 points) i thought that it easy with NL25 but didnt notice my bankroll was dipping low so i abandoned it after day1 and played NL10.

IMHO there is just no typical gameplay for Rush. you will just have to adapt your play on every hand.

I'm starting to make a small profit at this, so I suppose I am learning (or just being lucky). But I agree with you on one thing, it's a good thing the promotion is over tomorrow! I can't keep this pace up. I'm going for 25 $, over a 100 points on four days. On tuesday, I got 91, not knowing about this promo, so I have to do 100 tomorrow again. On 10NL. Sad

I agree that these things happen a lot in rush, and as for the non agression part, I can agree with these guy's.
How many times on rush it's QQ versus KK or KK versus AA? A lot indeed, like you said in your first thread.
Altough these setupsseems to happen a lot lately on ft, and when I don't run into AA with my KK theyhave a set of small pairs 80 percent.
If my AA holded up on the flop 2 days ago, there was a guy with a K8 who called me, just a pair or ings he had, last card a K.
I see this more happen in rush, but you play a lot of hands also. And lately on cashtables I saw it happen a lot too, don't know what's happening, but sometimes I feel there's something wrong with their software.
Altough do have to say that now in live I've made some good laydowns, due to the discipline I've teached myself, if certain players keep raising or push your big pair is just beat.

Very eloquent indeed!
I couln´t have said it any better. Blink

My theory from the beginning of the week has been shot to hell!
It only worked because a lot of new people were playing Rush and there wasn´t a lot of raising.
Now everybody´s got the hang of it and it´s become a huge lottery again.

Lost a good part of my bankroll for those lousy $10.... Sad
Like dozn says........

1 more day and I´m out of it for a while.

100points on NL10? we're talking about around 2-3 hours here on 2 tables.

IMHO - it feels very poor deal. So many hours with only 25$ effort in a game thats new and very agressive for you, as it sounds like you break even after earning those points. Im pretty sure there are better ways to earn a lot more. But if youve decided that way, then gl finishing the deal Blink Thumbs Up

Rush Poker is ABC poker at it's best/worst. TAG is the best way to play here, but since most opponents are playing the same, your profit's are minimal at best.

Yeah, it may seem so, but:

A. I wanted to try the game, and now they're giving me a nice promo, so why not?

B. I'm, on top of the promo, playing a bonus that gives me 15 $ for every 250 points.

C. They gave me 5 $ for just trying the game.

D. I'm getting the hang of it. I think the reason I have not done much profit from the game itself, is that I have played too long hours during this promo. I usually am + the first 45 minbutes, to an hour, and then the losing streak comes... Now, that I'm finished with the promo, I can play shorter sessions, and I'm somewhat used to the game. At the moment I'm 57 $ up.

Smile

@Kristan:

The point for me was to try the game to the max, and see what I could learn about it.
I made about $65 the first couple of days in tourneys and a S&G.

Then started to get screwed up as the game was getting more agressive by the end of the week.
And lost about $50. Tja...

Then today I got a lot more agressive and got back about $20.
I had a great time, but the game takes a lot out of you. And I think the variance is a killer any way you play it.

Anyway, just a couple more points to earn, and I´m putting "a point" on Rush for a while.
At least I hope so, cause it´s a damn addictive game.... Confused

Its pay day Smile
-$8 for me, can live with that....Next time ill just say NO.
Back to normall poker, wich means I have to take away temptation from FT, so cash out and hide short cut...out of site out of mind.
