I tried to get one myself at Ipoker last night. I had AQc on a flop with KJc, and by the betting I knew that at least one of my opponents had a set (they acually both had), but I was getting more than 2:1 on my money, and it would be great to actually for the first time hit htat hand + I had the rest of the 10:s and the c:s so I called.
Put me back to +/- 0 for the night, but I figure, it was sort of worth it, not in a monetary kind of way, but in some sort of spiritual sense. No, I'm not kidding, the royal is my white whale...

haha. Yeah i know what you mean. Obviously i've had some. But I know what you're getting at. Certainly not "good play" in the monetary sense as you say. But there's more goals in life than money. And if you want a RF then maybe making some less than ev+ moves is worth it within that context.
@IslandJack: Lol yeh sure - you'll prob hit 4 next month !
Although, in saying that, I've certainly had streaks of quads before (4 in one night ! W00t!) and other quads streaks on a weekly sorta thing. So maybe you get RF streak

had some royals flush in my life but never won a big pot out of them... and loats of straight flush .... i have poker online sometimes i think that they are cheating ..... i have like best hand and only the river to come and i know if i see the card it's a bad one for me, most of the time's like 80% the river killes me

It's look so nice on that table. I've seen 3 royals until now, but never on my side. I hope he will think on me in the future. But you wasn't all in with this hand btw?
