right all im sick of this at Full Tilt, so i thought il share it with you,
am playing omaha H/L to cut a long story short theres $10 in pot, 3 players including me 1 player bets $3 other 1 calls, i raise the pot the first 1 calls and the other all of a sudden gets disconnected, i wont of minded but this player always does this in this postion and known for doing it on other tables in which ive played so i know it has nothing to do with service for the internet hes got, he did on purpose so he didnt want to put anymore money in the pot, anyway he time out, but still in the pot due to the disconnection protection...
i won the both pots due to a striaght flush low, but i would of beat him too if he just called he had a hand which i would of called with in his postion but he played safe (disconnected, cheating git ,
after the hand was finished he was online again to play the next hand....... after the big blinds came to him he went of the table, to another 1 i followed him for about 30 min still playing my own table and he was doing the same when he had commited a bit of money to the pot, but still leaving him self agood amount he disconnected, then did the same waited to the big blind came then left to another table to do the same...
ive also noticed alot of players are doing this at full tilt so if i carnt beat em il join em but be warned you can only do this on a disconnection protected table and can only do this once...

just another thought.......... if i informed Full Tilt about this would they do anythink players abusing the disconnection rule?? could they prove it i mean or its just your internet service playing up....

Most rooms will investigate this if you report it. It's actually pretty obvious under scrutiny. Due to the type of pots/hands generally involved when people abuse this.

This typing of cheating occurs on PKR as well. Although, recently they changed their DP/AIP so that now, a disconnect play can only "win" back the amount they put into the pot.. Which is a great improvement.
Report the Players. The Poker Rooms will check this and if it is obvious that a players is misusing DP then they will bann him. My experience is that the rooms a very strict with this issue. They are aware that DP can be used to cheat and will try to protect their honest players.

I have seen this thing happen too, but not at FTP, I belive it was at Action Poker, some dude from like Tcekoslovakia, or some such with AQ, hit A, against AK, and on the river he just unplugged the computer, and was back there the next hand. From the comments by the other players I understood it wasn't the first time.
Now, I know is't probably EV+ to do such a thing, but I would never, because I could not face myself in the mirror after that. Hope those cockroaches gets banned!

classic AIP (All In Protection) works by treating the disconnected play as being allin. Meaning they can still lose the hand. But they can also still win the hand and see showdown/final cards without having to call any more bets.
So if they arent sure if the big bet is a bluff or not, they disconnect. And see showdown.

In most sites there are dc protection. Some sites offer tables with no dc protection. pkr.com eg has 2 dc protections per 24 hour - so you could do this trick 2 times within 24 hours, but when playing eg 50 or 100 nl/plo table multi, I dont think its good idea to dc, because when you really might need it afterwards when your pc freezes or net fails, you might lose your whole br on that table.
Ive done it few times, but it was years ago, when I was gambling with my roll, and needless to say I lost in most cases lol

B******t. Nobody ever gets banned for this as it's impossible to prove. I did it once for a 20 cent pot just to annoy my opponent!
It's definitely not impossible. It's actually quite obvious. If it's random disconnections, over a reasonable amount, you'd expect to get a fair share of rubbish hands that would have been folded, as well as a couple premium hands that definitely did NOT want to be folded.
So if all the disconnections are for hands where there's an obvious reason to abuse the DC then it can certainly be detected.
I know on PKR, if you're busted you can lose your DP privelidges.. I assume this probably happens on most networks tbh.

all poker rooms can detect disconenction protection abuse. its just on how tight they implement it. but i wouldn't try it if i were you guys. if you get caught, best case is you lose your DP, worst case is you lose your DP, your winnings gets returned to the players were you commit the crime and your account gets blocked.

That's sick for someone to use a cheat like that...I would never do it, and now finding that others abuse this...just took away a little bit of the passion for the game *sigh*
