Unfortunatly I'm not one of the few who manage to get a good income from playing poker, but I personally know enough people who make a thousand $ per month ... so yes it is possible!

I have made some money playing online, and I have won more than I ever spent depositing,so its very possible to make money playing online, mind you I have only made a few thousand, and my biggest win was 1400+ playing on pokerstars. I am not rich yet but I like to think i am some what on my way....
I think i am a big big fish, i have more money than i deposit, but i cant win so much. My opinion is just a few people can get so much money. But its simple mathematics everybody cant win because when somebody win somebody loose those money. If somebody win a lot of money a lot people loose money.

You can get rich from anything, pick a subject and ill find someone who got rich from it. Poker in its simplest form is math, play you odds and you will win, its not a get rich sceam for most, but for some it is.

Gus has over 7.5 mill in tourn wins and around 8.5 in cash loses, he had a poker site and sold it for around 15 mill also wrote a book that neted a huge sum. Gus has made a lot out of poker.
Very very very difficult. Most of us have won more money than we have deposit, but poker is not our profession. To be professional (not pro player) you need, at least, assure $2,000 per month. Without an initial investion of money is impossible. I know a guy who ask a bank for a loan for €90,000 to start a online poker career. He is working with his mother at their supermarket

lol ... is very hilarious ... ... He was a guy who started playing online poker with me. He got obsessioned and was playing all the time. At first, he started wining some money. One day he went to casino and met a guy who explained his experience and how he was living with poker online: "Holdem Manager + two monitors + 8 tables + high stakes + 6 hours/day + 90,000€ initial investment and you'll get rich!" lol ... he believed him ( i always thought he was a lier ) and ask for a loan, started playing high levels and ... of course, he was swinging all the time since he lost all the money invested. He drop poker or he is playing micro levels now. So silly ...

Hey c'mon, the guy still has enough for a noose..... If you enjoy the game dude then keep playing comfortable stakes and use any substantial wins to fund something outside of a virtual felt. After a few succesful MTT's (took a while) I withdrew my money and started again with my original stake cos having the cash in my hand gave me a real incentive to improve and push my game harder whilst still having a love for the game. SET YOURSELF A GOAL!!!
