I´ve been playing $6 SnG´s again since yesterday, and what I noticed is that the Donks are starting to take over and moving up the levels. (Party)
Last time i played, the $6 level was stil semi-decent, not great, but still some "thinking" Poker involved. Now....
Just have a look at the bottom right game in the screenshot. This is the first hand of the game! (for those who can´t see: 6x raise, next idiot calls it, and the next idiot goes to 12x raise)
And what´s worse, this is typical play now apparently. 5-7 people going to the flop from the start seems to be what´s going on. And these are Sng´s!! Does nobody read the basics anymore?
Mind you, I´m not complaining, it gets pretty easy to cash in those things. Last night I played 4, lost 1, 3rd once, and twice 1st. Just now I played 2, and came 3rd twice. Just warming up.
What´s fun: They think you´re a rock, up until 4-5 players, then you start playing agressive and everyone´s lost their take on you and gets scared. Even though that´s the way it´s supposed to be played!
What´s less fun: You´re surrounded by Donks, raising from early position with 5 8 os, and hitting trips. Or going all-in with 9 2 suited and hitting the Flush.
How in the hell can these idiots afford playing $6 games, even Multi-tabling them (really), and keep coming up with the cash to do it consistently???
Beyond me.... All I know for sure is, the idiots are going to take over the world, but that´s nothing new, I guess...

I believe a donk player is created slowly. First it starts with inexperience and getting beat constantly by solid players, then it really starts to escalate when they get a good lucky run and win from all ins or sucking out on the river. And just then they finally realize the only way they can win is by over betting, pushing all in, or just calling with nothing to the river. No Standards at all, just hoping to get lucky over and over.

It's PartyPoker Jack... part of the "Party Gaming" platform, crowded with not a few typical gamblers that also try the PartyCasino, PartyBingo, etc... lots of people with free time and money to spare, willing to try their luck on poker after a good game of craps on the site. I've run onto them a couple of times at the $3 SitNGo's, although I prefer better the MTT's on Party.
Also, it's not strange for me that Party endorsed that Double Hold'Em thing which adds excitement and certainly appeals to the mind of a gambler, as it gives him "more possibilities" (isn't that the motto they used for promoting the game?), which simply means for them "take-it-to-the-river-no-matter-what" and ye shall be rewarded!!..... By the way it's no secret that UIGEA forced a survey not so long ago, and turned out that Party Poker is officially a poker fish tank... Just google it and read more about that survey if you like.
But it's a relief to hear that you're running good against these donks, which means that solid strategies and good old-school techniques will always reward the good player.. GL with it!

I don´t know if there´s a whole lot of skill involved. Just keep folding until they´ve destroyed each other and there´s about 4-5 players left. Goes pretty quick sometimes... And then just play a very agressive game all of a sudden. lol
I even dump AK to a good raise before that happens. Too risky with the River Donks.

Personally - I can't stand the rake PP charges on SNGs. 20% for $5 games
Yep, it´s pretty steep. BUT....they usually have a promo or extra Bonus going, which kind of compensates for the steep rake. Right now it´s the Card Rush promotion again this month. Brought me a few $ and some freerolls which I screwed up last time.

This is no sample size and you know it. Maybe you just got some maniac tables. Play for a month, and if the play is still that bad you can come to a conclusion.

True.. ive just had the same thing in reverse on I-poker horrible variance suck-outs by donks just like this ... almost left cos its been running bad for about a month only really been breaking even, just starting running good and hands holding up..
I think playing against better players is easier.. They know where the fold button is..
I stay in thailand alot an PP is blocked there (gamblimg is illeagal) so my choice is reduced..
Unfortunately so is my bankroll so i cant play the $20+ games id like to ..
So im playing against more fish..
PartyPoker and the I-poker network are singled out for having a lot of fish but they have a habit of suckin out and driving you Nuttz!!! .

Wouldn't the reverse be a table full of sharks ?

I seriously doubt it. If your consistently losing against bad players - you're almost certainly a bad player yourself.

You really cant say anything after playing 6 games. Maybe it was a payday in nuthouse and all the sick people play now. Or bunch of college graduaters did all join pokerroom and did play for fun in same hotelroom, after drinking anything that burns and smoking everything that smokes.

really should read things b4 you reply jess!!!!!
the origanal thread was about how island jack was loving the fact that he was making $$$$ from all the donks on PP...
I was agreeing with shokaku that it wasnt long enough to be credible
I'd been pretty much breaking even for 3-4 weeks cos of suck-outs etc NOT CONSISTENTLY LOSING !!!
The reason ive taken a step down or 2 in buy-ins is cos ive just had a baby and i cashed out 75% of my bankroll to help with the extra expences( which was $1200 cash out)
Since dropping down i have had more suck-outs less wins so yes you lose some equity to people who play wild and dont fold...so i stand by my comment ...

You might be right.
I realise I might have hit some Nuthouse tables, but I hope they´ve got "Happy Hour" Poker in the nuthouse now every day.
@Kristan Unfortunately, I´m not that "evolved" yet in my Poker game that Rake plays a huge role. Maybe some day soon, when I start making some real $.
