I thought I´d start a new post about this because it´s quite interesting really.

Jack you mentioned in another everest thread that the blind structure is slow there - man oh man, I could bet 50$ that after few weeks of playing there you cant stand that blind structure and move on to another site lol.
Don´t think it´s going to take a few weeks. You´d win that bet today already! I got it yesterday.
I only deposited $30. So I played 2 micro $1.10 to get used to the tables. 1h30 to 2 hours for an SNG!!!
Man, i went all-in on 1 after an hour because I got fed up, and started up a $2.25. I played overly agressive at the last 3 tunners on the other 1 and came 2nd. Otherwise it would have been like 2h30. 2 hours for a $1 profit!!!
The 2.25 lasted more than 2 hours as well, but I need the bankroll on Everest now so I played that out and won it for $12.50. In the meantime I played a Sat for a beginner´s $2.500 Freeroll, and that was even worse. Top 50 go through out of about 700 in that one, and it took almost 4 hours. For a Freeroll!
What makes it worse on Everest, is that you can´t just place and leave the table, knowing you´ll get your ticket. No no no... Everest pulls you out if you don´t act after 5 minutes or more. So you have to sit there, clicking the Fold button or whatever, right up until the end. I was bored out of my skull! People were running the clock as well, the blinds don´t increase at all practically, and you just sit there....waiting for it to end. Took almost an hour for the last 4 to get booted. Can you believe it? Pffffffft....
By that time it was one in the morning, and there was no activity in other Tourneys or SnG´s, so....I tried chatting some at the table to relieve the boredom. ...and they told me to Shut up!
OMG, so serious...it´s like they were playing a $Milllion tourney.
Conclusion: I get it! This is going to try my patience. Big Time!
Thing is, I signed up there through Holdem Manager, because you can get it Free from them if you collect 1.000 Points on Everest. It´s $90 to buy otherwise. I just hope I make it before I decide to jump off a cliff or under a truck!
I´m already hesitant to start anything up, and it´s only day two. lol Funny really...

only suggestion I can give is: stick to cash tables, mutlitable it to 4 or 6 at least and play ubertight as on everest the use dealt rake method so you get points even if you are not involved on pots.
YEP! Snail Poker. they should make a seperate tab for the whole site. lol

Posted by shokaku: Has nothing to do with the blind structure. The gameplay at Everest is soooo slow. Every single hand takes forever to complete.
Yeah, EVERY hand is played like it´s their last in life. I´m talking to myself while they´re thinking: "I just raised, there´s an A on the Board, either you´ve got an A or you don´t ........ DECIDE and play!!! Everyone seems to run down the clock every hand almost and THINK. About what??????

sounds to me that there software is not up to scratch .........
The software is simple and so-so... It´s their "thinking" that isn´t up to scratch....
I´ve already collected about 14.5 Summit Points, and it only took me, like, 16.5 hours! At this rate I´ll be 85 before I get Holdem Manager....
@magatt Yep. At the rate they play a hand, I can probably Multi-Table about 68 games. Maybe I´ll give it a try.

Jack - LOL, so you found that annoying even faster than me then. First day I was playing 5$ sngs there, first game 6max took me little over 1 hour to finish 2nd place - I thought maybe its just some sicko players happened to time out all the time. But after few more days it got clear to me that this blind structure that will raise everytime 5-10 chips, is a bit odd along with most players who just does not show up any interest of playing poker in tables - they rather like to time out and do something else while playing there.
LOL reading your last post and still making me laugh - this wuold be def a poker site where to multitable 68 tables at once

First day, I´m still at the 2.25´s. Want my bankroll at about $70-80 before I hit the $5. I like to play it safe.
Maybe that´s a mistake, or maybe I´m just a glutton for punishment...who knows?
------------ Edit:
Quick Rant: These **** go in with 10 3 "suited" and Q 2 "suited"... How in the hell are you supposed to know what anyone´s holding??? I am playing SUPER tight, dumping AK´s and stuff, but these people keep hitting trip 2´s etc.
Okay...Rant´s over...back to Donkville....

Ok. so Donkville was driving me crazy, and I decided to join a tourney.
5.50 entry - 91 runners - 10 places paid - $500 guaranteed Made it to 6th for $30. Really stupid call in the end and got busted. My bad. SO....NO more 2.50 SnG´s!
Going to play the $5.50´s and hope they´re less donkish.
@Kristan Since you´ve played those....better I hope? I don´t see a lot of traffic on them though. Finding 2 to play at the same time is gonna be kinda hard, I think. Any thoughts? Too soon with $70 bankroll for the $10, but have you played those as well?
Or anybody else for that matter, since everyone seems to know Everest except me.

I like donkish opponents.
I think you´re an exception shokaku. Most people go crazy because of the runner runner straights and flushes,, the Bad Beats, etc.
I must admit I kind of like it now too because I seem to have figured out how to play them, very non-conventional play. Still, I prefer "intelligent" poker after the flop to a crazy raising fest or hands with 7 people in the Pot and going all-in from the start. But that`s just my opinion, of course.
Well, I really like Everest Poker - as someone said, you can always play more tables - although Have a Rest software isnt very suitable for multitabling, 6 tables can be easily done. Opponents are not so tough, and the rake there is very fair

Just play turbo sng. And Everest software is stone age relic, like something Bareney Flinstone would make. And the players tend to let the time pass hoping they will get you to lose your mind or get into the money if an MTT is being played. So either get used to it or find another way to get Poker Tracker or whatever it is that you need the summit points for. You might as well buy it when you get your bankroll to be as big as the price of the software.
