According to Scott Montgomery's twitter, he was robbed at Bellagio in Las Vegas the other day. It all occurred in a bathroom during a tournament break. A person corned Montgomery and demand all his money or else he would be shot/stabbed. At first, he refused to give up his money, but when the man started to unwrap something in his hand, Montomery decided to hand over the $2k he had in his pocket.

LOL. What a softy. With all that money the high rollers have, I think I know only few who do a decent sports. Instead of rolling the dice at Bellagio 24/7, he should take some fighting lessions or atleast self defence or go to the gym to get his fat*ss in shape so next time someome starts "unwrapping SOMETHING" in his hand, he can broke his nose with his head or an elbow lol.
Instead of going to police he went to Twitter? LOL

I'm always surprised when people seem surprised by the lack of efford of security/police for minor muggings. Maybe it's because i know about it too well lol. But seriously, in most places, for minor theft/muggings - without assault - security and police will basically do nothing except possibly detain suspect if they happen to run into them.
Fact is, there isn't time enough or resources to actually investigate this sort of thing. If it were a larger sum of money or if the victim is seriously assaulted, then they'll take it more seriously.
But crap like this happens constantly. People are just surprised when it happens to them and somehow suspect justice will occur and then are disappointed when the reality of the situation dawns on them.

This didn't happen at some slum in suburban area. This happened in high class hotel. So, yes, I am a bit surprised. Back in 2004 there was another attempt of robbery in Bellagio but the thieves' arses were kicked by a player.

Unbelievable! How the cassino cant offer secure playin to they players and customers. If the cassino was in Brazil, all right, this will be common, but not in the desenvolved country..

very very strange, with so much security around in the Las Vegas Casinos, and even more Cams in any corner of the Hotels, Casinos and Streets...
But try to take some chips from the black jack table that are belonging to the bank or so, you will see, within 20 secs. there are at least 3 Security persons around you

in Finland you need your ID first time when you visit in casino, they scan it and save it for safety issues. just thought that this standard is normal everywhere, especially in casino's pioneer city Las Vegas.. but maybe we have to again confess that.... ITS AMERICA!

I live in Serbia, a country many people consider Wild West third world country. But in the casino I visit you need to go through 3 rings of security, and leave your ID card the first time you come. Then you get a card with your picture which you need to show every time you come in. Every corner of the casino is covered with security cams. And this is not some extremely luxurious casino, there are tables with 40 euros buy in there. So I suppose there are too many casinos in Nevada. They could not meet such standards with so many players. And most times nothing happens.
