I was playing with a group of friends in a home game the other day. We get together every few weeks and play a tourny. Anyway, blinds were beginning to climb, and I get 4,5 Spades in Dealer position. One guy called before me, and I called, then the small blind raised 3x. BB folds, other caller folds, and I decided to play it since I had position. flop comes out 2,3,6 spades, and I almost jumped out of my seat. SB takes a stab at the pot, and just out of reaction, I halfway yelled "You didn't hit that!" Then I kind of looked at the board, then my cards again (make sure I hadn't made a mistake). Then I pushed all-in. Some might say I should have slow played it, but this guy is a good enough player to think I could be bluffing, and call. After all who would push with a straight flush in position, right? The guy asked me how much it was, and I could barely control my self as I counted my chips. Another guy at the table later said he was about to get me a paper bag to breathe into. Anyway, the guy called, he had pocket 9. I ended up taking 2nd that night. I actually had a little trouble playing after that hand.

nh Sir +1! Made me laugh LOL. I know the feeling, sometimes words speak louder than actions. Tho I believe every poker player that has hit the str flush or royal has spoken loudly, even when noone was around lol.

@ pokkerimees- you could definitely say it was a bad call, but I am an aggressive player and the other guy knows that. I have pushed in similar situations with nothing.
jessthehuman- we were playing live, and none of us are good enough to stack the deck. Plus it's a "friendly" game, if there is such a thing.
To control himself playing live is always hard: you often give some tells to other players. Live behaviour and self control make difference between a pro and a '' sunday afternoon '' player like me.

Lol - i was joking man.
Seriously, nice hand - I've had a couple live myself - know the feeling.
On a side note - i can't remember the guys name, but there's probably a few like him, a guy who can stack the deck so well, it seriously makes you scared to ever play live poker against any stranger ! This guy, even has his opponent do the shuffling, cutting, etc. And then when it's dealt, this guy still gets the monster hands.. maybe I'll try and look up his name later, it's a good watch.

same here, i think i'll never be able to hide my expressions at a poker table. so i stick to online poker, too much skill reqd for live play
nice hand... Everybody gets nervous when playing live on a poker table specially when having the nuts. But what i do is just to take my time, relax and never say a word even when somebody talks and talks.. Just concentrate thinking on how to get more chips dont mind what the other players are thinking cos thats their problem already just take your time and cos it will help you relax..

Nice flop for live play. I have flopped str8 flush on line - and got paid off big time. Best flop I have seen (for someone else) was royal flush. I kinda got suspicious of how good a site Betraiser is the time I was playing a tournament there and hit three straight flushes and missed another because I folded preflop...
