No turbo tourneys for me. Far to less time to actually play poker for a nitty player. They are more for the gamboool type of players.

Whilst they certainly aren't 'classic' poker, they can definitely be beaten. I've recently started palying turbos on PKR - blinds increase EVERY hand.. It's pretty crazy.. But I've discovered I'm actually pretty good at them.. The mid parts of the game very much resemble the final play of a reg SNG or MTT. With push/shove mode. I'm quite good at knowing when to shove, when to fold and when to call in these situations..

I been playing just the $1 turbos to get a feel and I been absoutely crushing them.. 85% ROI over 100 games so far Big Smile

I'm playing at fulltilt and there I'm playing their 3 min level SnG.
They have more levels in blinds than PS an others so its okay

As a nitty player a like more deepstack slow structure, but i do play sometimes turbo or speed, just play tight in beginning and after sgort while ur in push/fold phase and u can play them profitably in the long run.

In my opinion in turbo turneys luck is more important. But if you play with smal entrys (-10 dollar) you dont want to spend more than an houer for one turney, so I also play turbos, especially in smal buy-ins.

Usually I prefer 5 min turbo, sitn'goes 6 handed only; just because I don't have enough time to spend playing hold'em

5 min POKERSTARS Turbos with their slow blind structure are way nicer than any other turbo tourney for me. Just what I need when I don't have too many hours to spare, but I also want some decent poker play. Thumbs Up

I like 6 person turbo personally. I look for cheap flops in the first two levels of blinds, hoping to capitalize on a blunder, but keeping enough chips to be able to push when the blinds go higher. Currently on an eight game steak of finishing in da moneyyyyyyy! Cool

same here

@ PKR with blinds up every level, I basically will see some cheap flops with a wide range of hands (altho i wont call big raises, I'll either shove over them or fold) and if i hit cheap i can normally get some fish allin and doubel up. But I also make sure to save at least 2/3 of my stack for push/fold time. And I got the timing down pretty damn good at that point.

At the $1 level you see soooo many morons getting blinded out and calling you a donkey for shoving allin (the blinds are like a 1/3 of the biggest stack at this point lol). It's amazing too how many people fold hand like, 2 people allin, the pot is 6000, they are big blind for 1500 or something with about 300 behind and they'll fold!!! to keep their stupid 300 chips lmao

I love them, people play them either to loose or too tight and if you play them right it's easy to keep a +++ ROI

I stay away from turbo's at all costs. In fact, I generally stick to cash games due to time restraints.

i am really surprised i figured it would be a landslide one way or another but it is almost even at all levels of this poll so many people have really good points about why they like or dont like each style good feed back thx

I like the Turbo games myself, and dissagree with a lot of what is said, turbos are not based on luck (super turbos SS excluded). Think of it it this way, yeas ago when you played a tourn the levels would increas the same as they do now, you will see 30hph on a good day, now with internet av is 60hph, twice what itt used to be, so IMO a normall Turbo game = old school gaming.
If there is more luck involved, then you need more skill to beat it, I dont lilke playing a sng / mtt against a person who has folded for 1hr to get his magic cards.
For me id say, normall games / deep stack are for those who like to just grind it out, hope for the right cards at the right time, play the same TAG game with most winners being those who just wait, nothing wrong in that it takes skill too.
A Turbo game is for someone who wants to get involved, gets a thrill from taking a pot that shouldent be (out playing outhers), can quickly change style to ajust to the game and is not waiting for outhers to make mistakes (getting lucky) but forcing people to make them.
I vote blue.

turbo and superturbo becomes Bingo at higher blind level - therefore normal SNG for players, turbos for donks
