Hello all BRMers, was thinking of starting a league for BRM members on one of the big sites like pokerstars or full tilt, a private league, password protected with cheap buy ins and a point system for league table with winner making a few quid in the process. what do you think? would you be interested? I will do all the setting up and post league tables etc. weekly or whatever. run it over 10 games, weeks ,whatever any way if your interested ,vote and in a weeks time i will check back and see if there is any interest

best of luck but it would never work, there are BRM freerolls with small by ins already and most players wouldnt be interested in playing this format
It's not the first time I see a post like this one and in the past someone organized some restricted tournaments for mobsters only. Results weren't so good, maybe for 10 buyin or for poker room ( seems to me was FT ) and only 6 or 7 players took part at these events. Of course I wish you have better luck

I brought up the idea of a league a long time ago but it never came to anything. We created private tourneys of 10 and 5 us dollars and I said if we got a big turn out we could make it regular but we never did. Gl to you mate but I can promise you its not very likely.
Here are the problems we encountered last time
not everyone wanted to play on the same site certain regs didn't want to reveal their usernames no one could agree on buy-in, some people weren't interested in 1 dollar games some people could only play weekends but some couldn't brm has ppl from all time zones and we couldn't get a time where everyone was free in a poll lots of ppl would say they wud play but not turn up

That's what I thought last time. Shame really it didn't go anywhere.
But I just had a thought. Why don't you use the 100 dollar added tourney on fulltilt? At least to start with. I don't think it has a huge amount of players and the buy-in is a modest 2.50.
I would dispense with any registration fee. Just get anyone interested to add their ft user names to a thread here in the forum. Then take the order they come in the tourney, taking away all those who didn't opt in, and post it in the thread, updating it each week. hey presto you have a league.
maybe you wouldn't get many participants at first but if it starts ppl might see it in the forum and join in. So that those who start earlier in the league don't get an advantage, you could make it a points buy-in system. -10 points for each game you opt into with the points shared by the winners.
If it takes off you can then create new private games for league members and maybe get some sort of prize for the league winner, using mob points perhaps but i'm getting ahead of myself. What do you think

Agree. I remember there was a time when some brm members organized private tournaments and ... what it's said: no participation. Neither Pokerstars nor Full Tilt. I'm interested too but I guess it will be difficult to create. I wish I'll be wrong.

Truth is only way for this to work is if BRM was to set up a table not limked to any site outher than bankrollmob, we pay a fee to play in the league(think that avoids gambling laws), it could run every sunday x2 morning and night,or twice a week but if you play morning you cant play night or if you play say tuesdays game you cant play sundays. At the end of the year or half year we could then split the fees and give to the league winners. Even thoses with no money could buy in with mobpoints. Outher than that you could all come to my house each 1st Sunday of the month, £20+5, $50+5 and £100+5 games available, cash table has fees of 10% and the fruit machine does not pay out.

Take money from the BORING safe game for a 10 day period and put it in a guaranteed tournament for bankrollmob members and i promise the participants will come running. This site really needs a change to continue to be interesting to regulary visits, a tournament with a leaderboard on the frontpage would be very interesting and also create a feeling for new members that it is an real and legit site that doesnt try to scam them.
If im remembering correctly admin were talking about a new mob game or something similar a time ago ... but nothing have changed ...
