I have been playing poker on and off for a while now and have never cut a profit i have been out of work for the last few weeks so have been playing a lot more than normal . I have started to notice that i have been making a good roi during 11am and 9 pm gmt but any time after that i just cant seam to get a hand through . Dose any one else have a time of day they prefer to play

first welcome on forum!its good feeling to be at home and to play when you want and how much you wnat,doesnt it?I can play in every time after 12 pm (noon),but love to play at night beacuse I am in that time at home for sure!and then I can play till 5 am!

thanks i have never really used a forum for much so thought i should give it a go . i do enjoy playing at night but i think i might have to ascess what games i play at different times of day i only ever play small stakes MTTs but i would rarther make good profit and i am not doing that in an evening .

I prefer playing at night 9 to around 3 4 Am in the morning. Usually in the morning for USA players there tends to be less people in freerolls which is usually what i play so thats good.

I also like to play after midnight. Probably because I can fully concentrate at poker but I notice on BWIN that is lot easier to make profit early in the morning. I dont know why... Maybe because some people dont sleep whole night and still play in the morning and that is not good for their game or some people play from job so they cant fully concentrate...

I have been working on my game a lot for the past 2 months, and one thing I noticed is I play a lot better when I am on vacation. De-stressing lets me play more naturally and profitably. Being home now is hopefully allowing you to do this, so you should play better overall. Two things generally make the game profitable (or not) for me, regardless of time of day:
- how tired are you? did you party all night last night? are you sick and fighting off a cold? You need to be mentally alert to make correct plays on the felt, especially when multitabling.
- what is the calibre of players at the table? If you don't know the answer to that one and don't have software to assist you in that determination, after a few rounds how do you feel? Have you spotted any weak players? Are you getting the feeling that maybe YOU are the weak player at this table? Then time to move on. I have moved up a blind recently, and yesterday when I sat down to play on a small site, only one table was open on these higher blinds and it was full of tough regs, (some of whom normally play quite higher). Instead I sat down at a number of tables at the blind I used to play and enjoyed a profitable session.

Its fine playing anytime of the day .... Maybe the time you said is going well with you because you had set your mind that you'll win and its the time your playing it well than the other time

i dont think timing of the day has anything to do with you getting good/bad hands. its just your superstition. i personally prefer to play during night cos thats when im free and poker sites hav more traffic.

How many hands have you taken in this estimation? You should consider a big number of hands enough to conclude that. In my humble opinion, if you have a huge amount of data, it's weird. In my case I cannot say that I have a period of time better than other. merry xmas
