I am creating this forum for us to debate and giving ideas to make the forum better and maybe the administrator can use some of them to make this a better place than it already is.
I have 2 ideas:
I would like to get back the 2 points that we receive in the polls. My idea is; everybody that vote in the polls and then answer the thread gets the 2 points back along with the answer points. If the 2 points its too much, at least for us to receive 1 point. I would like to see the polls with the possibility to have more answers, we could work in some way to make the polls better.
I admit iam a big fan of the polls, most of the threads i create its polls.
Other thing i would like to see in the forum its an area where some threads gets stays there (the most active threads and the most important ones) for an indeterminate time. Some threads are too good to be forogotten with time. Other thing its about the threads repeating the same assunt of the other threads. Lets try to dont get repetitive threads.
Lets help eahc other and try to make this a even better pleace.
PS: This pic its an idea about the most important threads, this is the benfica forum and the most important threads are upper in the forum forever.

Lots of ppl asking to reinstate the points for voting in polls but I think admin had valid reasons to take them away. Let's take the example of your 3d films poll Kinogomes. If people got points for posting all the people who had never even seen a 3d film would be voting and since you didn't leave them the option of 'haven't seen one' your poll would probably not be accurate. If you like polls as much as you say surely you want them to be useful to the thread and not a way for point hunters to get points.
I would however like the idea of improving the polls. I would like the option of changing my vote after I've voted. Maybe even the possibility to select two answers although this would probably be too complicated.
About the second idea. Sometimes threads disappear from the top of the forum before their time, which is why I pitched the random old posts section to admin a while ago and I think it has been successful. The idea is that occasionally old threads return so that newbies can see them but of course now and again an old useless thread returns that no one wants. Still these threads quickly go again whilst the great classics hang around.
And as for the repetitive threads issue. It annoys me a bit but I suppose it can't be helped. I wish people would search the forum for similar threads before they make a new one but then again sometimes it is better to create a new thread from a fresh view point than try to restart an old one, especially if that old thread has several pages to read and has wandered off-topic and back.

its definitely a bright idea... that way, nobody could vote just for the points... but next time; if you attach an image, will you attach an english 1... members like me don't undrstand spanish... ty

Awood iam not asking for the points in the polls just to have more points, iam asking to put 1 point in addiction with the answer in the thread, wich is completely different.
I admit that the 3D movies poll is a little bit unfair with the people that never saw a 3D movie, but i looked for the mistake only after when somebody asked for that. I was trying to put more movies as possible, and the site doesnt allowed me to change after. Well my bad.
We could have an option for nother people put other options in the polls, maybe in that way the polls could be more atractive to other people. Adding with that more slots to have more answers, cause sometimes 10 slots is nopt enough.
Oliver the pic is a portuguese forum, just to show how the most important threads stay always untouchable as long as tyhe admin wants.
thats the point of this thread, discuss new solutions to make the threads and the polls more atractive.

well you posted some interesting suggestions and would be nice to have something new,but its good point about this votes points!best and only way (if ever again admin give votes points),is that people first post and then to be able to vote,so then they wouldnt open thread just to vote and for collecting points!

I think admin has talked about this subject quite a lot and I don't think they are even close to reinstating points for votes. I believe admin once said that having to post to vote would lead to short or spam relpys like "yes I agree' but I suppose extra points for a vote and post together could work.

I think what you are referring to is like the sticky option, which already exists. Some threads admin makes sticky so they stay at the top of the forums, though not the front page. Not really sure of the benefit tbh but maybe threads should move up the front page when they get thumbs up.
And thinking about repetitive threads I don't know if this is easy to program but maybe if when you create a new thread, it could flag you if your thread contains all the search words of another thread. It could read something like 'your thread seems to have similar content to... Post anyway / cancel. And if you didn't want to annoy someone by just repeating someone else you could then copy your tweaked message into the older thread.

ofcourse I dont mean that just post yea I agree and to get points,beacuse admin always can delete post,but you must write enough letters like in normal post,so ofcourse 100 or whatever you need!

imho - I think its good BRM took away 2 points from poll voting, it will reduce the % of players who have never been active on forums. Some might just vote for polls and take few ndb offers and then throw the poll points to draw and win. With taking away the points for voting, those things will never happen and regs will have more chances for the draw

i remember ages ago some dude created 40 or 50 polls in 2 hrs, we got 10 points for creating polls in those days i think, we used to get 5 points just for posting too (not sure if that still happens?).
fact is you're never going to cashout with posting/polling points alone, get off your ass and earn the points (refer people ect), if your only posting/polling for points then the place is already worse off, i havnt been round much lately but i used to post here because i enjoyed it.

The points system should be for those people who earn them only, i.e reffering people to the site, making contributions. Unless BRM are using the polls to sell the information then it's pretty much pointless them paying you to participate.
These forums are hugely out of date imo, and the design work around the site needs a facelift. That said, there is a certain amount of nostalgia attached to posting here again

yes indeed a face lift is need here, i think we should do a insurance job here ,............. burn this forum down ........... ( carnt believe i wrote that) claim the money and do it up better ........ then every1s happy then we get a better forum owners gets loads of money too,
just a thought thou dont take me serious unless tony get in touch with me and personal ask me to do it for them

one suggestion to improve the forum would be to remove the "last edited by intentcity at 12.10" thing, you should at least have a few minutes to edit a post without that coming up.
