Leo Messi has won the Golden Ball two consecutive years. Only 5 players reached this milestone before ( the great Johan Cruyff, Kevin Keegan, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Michel Platini (3 times in a row!!) and Marco van Basten. Leo Messi is writing another page in the history of soccer. Pity for Xavi who deserved the award like Leo but, number one can only be one. Congratulations!

Te lo dice un madridista paisano
Xavi is the perfect player: he is a FC Barcelona player since he was a baby, he is humble, works hard every day, is professional, healthy, has incredible team skills ... and loves Barça. For me he also deserves the award but, Leo is the only one. It's a pity but it's only an award. We'll go on enjoying Xavi, Leo and Iniesta together for years! This is the real award for FCB fans!

not sure if we still talk about the same lol? cruyff ? the ballon dór exist officially since 1991, unofficaily it started 1982 as far as i know, so cruyff never got it.
1991 matthäus 1992 van basten 1993 roberto baggio - not van basten 1994 romario 1995 george weah 1996 ronaldo 1997 ronaldo 1998 zidane 1999 rivaldo 2000 zidane 2001 figo 2002 ronaldo 2003 zidane 2004 ronaldinho 2005 ronaldinho 2006 cannavaro 2007 kaka 2008 c. ronaldo 2009 messi 2010 messi
so ronaldo and ronaldinho won it twice in a row. van basten only once regardin platini and the unofficial list
1983 zico - not platini 1984/85 platini about cruyff and keagen ? never seen a list from the 70´s, must have been super unofficial

lol ... yes, indeed, we were not talking about the same ... You were talking about the FIFA World Player, an award started at 1991. This is not the Ballon d'Or!! What happened this year was that both awards, Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player have been merged in a unique award.
