sounds good for them I have 3 and they love living here in Killen , we live in a cottaqge well 2 that were joined together sometime ago in a small village , all around is plenty of land for them to hunt, on a good day in the summer they bring home 5 to 10 mice a day even though I dont want them!! ah well cats will be cats, lol
I only have a flat with two floors and with a exterior terrace. In Barcelona, flats are incredibly expensive, is impossible to buy a house with garden if you want to be close to the city. Both of you have big houses so, or in your countries houses are cheaper or you are millionaires!

By the way .... did it work?
I havn't tried it yet. The old cables are so chopped up it's no use trying to save them, but when I get new cables, they will be protected with your method!
As for the house, no I ain't rich. The prizes for houses, and apartments in the mayor cities in Sweden are very very high. But as soon as you get out on the countryside, it's a totally different matter. In the north of Sweden, I've been told, you can get a small house for like 10000 $. But not many people want to live there. In the middle of Sweden, where I reside, you can get a decent house for like 80 000 $. But then there is probably some work to be done on it.
Our house, as I wrote, is quite big. But there is four different apartments in it, which we rent out, so the house pretty much pays for itself, with the heating, water electricity, insurance and so on. All we do is pay for the loans. And they will eventually be paid off, so once you pay the initial investment, it's a sweet deal. There is some work involved, a lot of walls to be painted and a lot of roof to be fixed, but since my usual job is by the computer, it feels pretty good to do something with your hands.
sounds like a good set up, we love our cottage but the recent heating fuel price rise really stung , up to 67 pence a litre and when you have to buy 1400 litres to fill up the tank its nasty, lol, even if we burn logs in the solid fuel fire we have its still costly plus the petrols up again and we cant operate without a car so thats another burden, but we manage , we still manage some luxuries (alcohol, poker) lol ,and like I said we are happy so cant complain to much , plus living in the highlands is worth the cost,

Posted by midnight1954: very impressive makes my cottage look like a cave, lol, ah well at least I dont have 1700$ a month to worry about 240 is more than enough thx, lol,
1700$ (almost) is the highest ever, since december was such a cold month. 1000 is like the usual amount during the winter, and 100 $ during the summer. But it sure did hurt...
Your cottage looked real cosy with the cat in the window and all...

WTF!!! I haven't put the heating on in all of the year! Well ... twice I think, one day that my mother came to my home We are a little cold ( ~15C degree ) but we save some money

Nice looking birds! Do you eat them, or just keep the for eggs/company?
I'm going to try to get a picture of my cats in to this computer, so I can upload it. I don't take much photos (the one on the house is by my mother), but I think there are a couple of the cats somewhere. Might take a week or two, though. I have to move the pictures between computers, and so on...

It's the same here in Sweden. If you live in a large city, Stockholm, Gothenburg, etc, it is _really_ expensive.

It is! The house you can almost see there, to the right, is also ours. It's a garage and storagehouse, and so on.
My motto is: "A house, is a house. Two houses, that's a f*ckin empire!!"

Don't worry. I was thinking of first marching on Poland. Then turning west, to deal with France and the Benelux-countries. After that, Russian. And then... who knows?
