Paying the second biggest pair. What do you think??  0
Tonight i got a curious situation that i think many times about it but i never put this question to the people i know that plays poker.

I had this situation in a table where the utg called pre flop and the guy before small blind raised to 4bb and we all smooth called.

My hand was A10

Flop was 10 7 Q and everybody checked than the turn came 3 and small blind bet 10bb i folded, but usually this kind of marginal situations confusing me.

What should i do in my situation?? Good fold?? Should i re raise him or should i call??

Think you should call that. He had monster or nothing... Probably bluff because of checking...

------------
Very possible that he had some small pair bigger then 33 or AK..

You have middle pair in a multiway pot, and two people will still act behind you. So don't get carried away by your hand. A fold is no mistake here.

Well i dont think i made a bad fold, but i was curious about other people opinion. Lately i have been playing more carefull and trying to avoid the kind of hands that can be -EV in the future. Yhis kind of situation seems to me -EV. Even if i had the best hand he was acting with very solids bets and for sure the river would be a triple barrel bet.He played well the hand and everybody fold.

jovicakralj bluffing in micros is really bad play, i dont believe too much that he was bluffing, maybe he was semi-bluffing a pair like 99 or 88 in a danger board, but i found it hard to believe, cause by the experience i have in micros the bluffers doesnt survive much time in the tables.

i would say folding is not bad as still alot in the hand but with the check i would maybe call as he could be stealing or beting on the flush draw hoping you fold and if called he has outs, tbh i would of bet the flop you have hit 2nd pair you want to get some of these guys out the hand and know where you stand you may get a call from KJ or a Q and then i if he checked the turn bet again if he called that well prob check the river. At these low stakes people play some crazy stuff and often hard to understand what the hell they are doing

2nd pair is always tricky. But when playing poker - without playing stupid - I think it's important to also remember they aren't always 'gonna have it'.

As Flippedchips said - I'd bet the flop here - get rid of anyone who's hit nothing and see where you stand - see if you get called, raised etc.. Give you a better idea come the turn.

That said, 2nd pair in a 4-way pot isn't much - it's a lot strong in HU obv.

As you can see he can beat 33 and AK so answer is same. I really think that he had some pair under 1010...

Depending on the information you have from your opponents. Without any additional information, in my humble opinion, it's a clear fold

You can be better then the guy who is raising now... but u can;t be sure if any of the ohers playing is aint slowplaying a set or something because flop was dry.
In MWP most of time 2nd pair is trash.

agree, if you raise he might show you a set, would be ugly. But folding might be wrong too. Call and hope you get a cheap river Blink

Your probably right Hajinho, but iam so messed up with this kind of situactions. Avoiding this kind of flop its being +EV for me lately. Before i did so many times re raise or just doesnt give up the hand and i got caught many times or the bigest pair or some draw finished in the river. Now playng more seldom this kind of hands, finally iam understanding my position when it comes to cash tables. Get cheap flop to outplay the river in my opinion is the best thing to do in the micro nl2.

Unless you were the aggressor you shouldn't be in this pot in the first place Tongue. ATo isn't a callable hand. Just look in what kind of difficult situations it brings you. If you hit an Ace you don't know if your kicker is good. If you hit the T, most of the time it's the second pair. It also lacks the speculative aspect of suited connecters, gapers and aces

Fold is the right choice there. It's a multi-way pot and even if by some chance you're ahead, there are still plenty of outs. Also, you never want to be aggressed by fishes and you don't want to play guess-games against them. If he bet first on turn, ahead of everyone, he's probably holding something. Only the most retarded maniacs would bluff in multiway pots.

reraise and fold to a rereraise, so you know for sure, if you run against a monster or a bluff... ok , maybe against a monsterbluff Big Smile but for sure, it depends which kind of action you have seen from the better before

If he's indeed hit set, then no river card on this planet is going to help you.

I think the fold is most definitely the best move here.

personally I would call fold and wait for a better situation. The opponent bets quite agr so u will soon have his money in ur stack

If your stack allow you to do it with a A kicker fold cards if you are in a good position I think is little weak. All depends what kind of game you are playing and your stack but in this situation call is not an option. Make a x3 raise or fold. Fold is no bad. But maybe is a bit weak in this situation you have a t with an A kicker. posible runner runner straght he can make that kind of bet with to mach hands.

all pairs les than t can play like that, AQ, AJ, A7, all suit connector with 7.

I think all of this is enougth to make a x3 raise if he pay and dont have a huge hand he will play check in next hand. You just to play check fold till the end. If he fold u won!
