Lately i have seen more and more people using pics of angels or Jesus Christ, asnf honestly i really doesnt like it. Iam christian Catholic and even if i dont go too much to the church i really respect the religion. I dont like to invoque the name of god in banal things iam doing in my life, and suddenly a new fashion appeared in the pokerstars avatars.
This is a game and doesnt have anything to do with the religion, i think people should respect m,ore the religion and stop using the kind of "luck amulets" that doesnt have anyrthing to do with the religion.
I remembver when i first uploaded my pic, the pic was baned cause they told me that they dont want pics that can be relacioned with violence, and they confused my pic as an NAZI symbol (the pic i use is the symbol of No Name Boys the unofficial Benfica Ultras). The same way i baned my pic i hope they ban all the religious pics because they can interfer in the people sensibility too.

Why would you gamble if you christian gambling is a sin you know and aswell as religous avatars why would they put it on poker if its a sin lmao , doesnt make sense btw ive never seen these avatars anyway

i think you have to live with it. you cant expect others to have the same thinking about religion or being a believer like you. for you its something serious... i respect that or those who believe in religion as long as they leave me alone with their religion. so i guess you have to respect those who make fun of it aswell, else theres not much different between you and the "radical" (!) moslems.

I think religion is a serious and I mean VERY serious plight upon this world - and it deserves no respect or tolerance.

Im not big believer myself but I cant agree with you. Everyone have right to believe! You dont have to believe yourself but you need to respect other people believes. Religion had good functions in this world (some bad too). Many people dont make crimes because of religion. But main thing in this thread is that people use those avatars like amulets ( not to make fun of god but contrary) and that is stupid because you cant mix god and gambling...

People have rights as to what they believe. But when those beliefs shape the lives of others, a line must be drawn on tolerance of the beliefs of others.
What if I were to believe, that everyone should always wear black pants and anyone who doesn't should be thrown in jail ? What if I got into power, as a dictator of a country, with that belief ? Would you grant me my right to practise my belief ? and to jail people for not wearing black pants.
The problem is too many agnostics and atheists are tolerant of religious beliefs, under the guise that they are harmless. Well they are not harmless, they are doing great harm.
80% of the world is completely delusional, this is not harmless. If I have a friend and they start believing in imaginary people, seeing visions, hearing voices - etc - Then I try and get them mental health care - and yet billions of people world wide- are suffering these exact symptoms and everyone is doing nothing under some BS about religious tolerance.
"Religious tolerance" allows for denial of human rights: For females, for homosexuals, etc. It allows for wars in the name of God. It allows for laws based around religious ideas.
Religion is a serious problem and IS NOT to be tolerated. If you can see this - and are not a believer - then shame on your for not speaking up.

Just to calm things down a bit here...
I remeber a long time ago hearing a country song about how similair the Bible was to a deck of cards. It was something about the four evangelists and four suits, and so on. I don't remember which card was Jesus, and I'm not even gonna imply that it was the joker, but I was more bringing this up to show that the degenerate gamblers and the religious actually can find some common ground...
And also: Anybody know what song it might have been? It wasn't very good, in my opinion, but I would like to hear it again. Might have been by Tom T Hall, who has made some great songs: Fox on the run is amazing. (Not the Sweet-song, that, also, is quite amazing.)
Yeah, that's my two cents on religious avatars for you...
2 cents is about all its worth , cant see sites alowing avatars that would offend anyone they all look at them first before allowing them, cant see much of a problem with them, but religion is a subject I care not to be drawn into

I hate all religions but I respect them. In the world there are millions of people who are believers, it doesn't matter their religion. Most of them are victims of their education (or lack of education)/society/etc .. People can have what they want to do, to believe or not believe, but always if you give the choice at first. I don't respect religion when it is imposed

this is a funny thread i have to say i think your right jess religious people are a bit of there rockers but you do have some extreme views but i understand what you mean. about the avatars ive not seen any of these either but if i did would not bother me a bit and if it does well get over it and let us rot in hell for putting up a jesus pic for poker lol tbh i think it would be more fun in hell anyway the big man upstairs is a fussy fucker the only people who will be there will be the boring people he party is downstairs with the gambling sex drugs and rock & roll

as you can tell by my avater i totally disagree with you.I can use whatever I like as an avater as long as its allowed by the site i use it on.Who gives you the authority to tell people whats right or wrong? Iam no one to judje people, iam not here to judje anyone. Everybody is free to have theyr ownbelieves, and i dont know what is going to happen when we will die (fortunately iam alive and i hope i can live much more years).
This is a controversial topic, but some people is not getting my point.
Iam going to explain. I think religious avatar pics should be considered in the same way as the racists avatar pics or the pics incinting violence. If we are good and very understanding with some people, we should be understanding all of the others. If its to ban some pics and allow others, in my opinion is better to allow whatever we want. We all know that religion is the first matter of violence in the world, we all know that many people would kill and die to defend theyr religion. Iam not radical, but i have respect for all kind of religions, and its not fair if i have a pic making funny with black people get baned but if somebody have a pic making funny of some religion dont get baned.
BTW stop giving me thumbs down to open this polemical thread, we need to acpet other people opinions too even if theyr are different than ours.
