Did anyone see the episode of High Stakes Poker where the players agreed to each pay $500 to any player that took a pot with 7 2 ? That put a really cool spin on that game...thinking about adopting the same spin for my home game.

I Don't like these kinda mini-games becouse is just dumb, i mean Limp with 72, even with that kinda of prize doesnt sound like an afordable action HEHE or even profitable, but there are people who like the SURPRISE hehe

Well did anyone take the pot with that hand? Yea Ill bet they would end up losing money on that in the long run. They should have made it at least $10,000 with the stakes they were probably playing..lol.

I saw it. Thought it was funny people played so agressive everytime they picked it up. Kinda like a bounty changed the play a bit. Wouldnt think so with the pros but i guess they have so much money that its not about the money it about the funny!!!

I seen it. Matusow laughed and showed his 2,7 when he won. I'm surprised Antonio Esfandiari didn't show his 2,7 when he won with it. I guess he wanted to keep a good table image.

Its pretty normal that if you win pot with 2 7 os table have to pay you some drink in our poker club ... and yes i saw it on high stakes poker once too and i think it still is as some unwirtten word

yes i seen it too lol the thing what made me laugh was when the guy flopped quad kings and his oppenent was betting huge amounts with 7 2 just to win that 500 from each player lol ... ridiculous!!

Yeah, I think four people won the bonus with 7 2 on that episode. The best one was when Helmuth bet big after the river with 7 2 . He hadn't even hit the board. He made Matasow lay down pocket kings. There was no ace on the board but Matasow was convinced that Helmuth had trips. That was cool...Helmuth laughed, Matasow cursed.

Yeah I saw the episode....im a poker geek so I just downloaded all seasons and watched them from end to end I love High Stakes, it is 1 of the only shows where real poker is shown, instead of the final table in a huge tourney where people are playing push/fold game. I don't know what to think of the 7-2 rule but as long as im not in the game I think it's fun....especially with Unabomber in there what a character...gotta love the guy with that spirit

this makes the game interesting but also dangoures as you cant get rid of weeker players as normal and your likley to get stung so if i was asked if i wanted this to be an option in a game i was a part of id have to say no thnaks
Sounds interesting .To be honest I will get the urge to play them junk hands I will almost limp in with any hand if i can well with in reason and 2 suited cards ill play always.There has been many times i fold 2 7 and would have floped a full house
