Posted by Greenmohave: That's exactly where I'm coming from I use various programs everyday at work and can't get a silly screenshot. Feel like an idiot! Wondering if it's my keyboard. Running windows XP. If I hit ctrl-Prt Scrn - doesn't work, Alt-Prt Scrn- doesn't work and prt Scrn by itself don't work and I supposedly know something about computers / software. I'm going to the "Dunmmiese Book" LOL
That really should work... What are you doing after you hit the print screen ? Or alt-printscreen ? You know you need to 'paste' it into paint or something right?

On some laptop computer you have fn button... Try to press that together with ctrl and prt sc...then paste on paint... You can even download some screen capture program and use it to take screenshots and to record your screen...

First I hate Windows Vista but I have it and all you have to do is hit the PrintScreen-SysRq button and it takes right away all you have to do is name it and save it. And doz I don't know what kind of keyboard you got but the PrintScreen SysRq is nowhere near the delete button it's above the numbers on the right side of my keyboard.

For last 11 years to capture a screenshot has always been CTR-PRNTSCR, open Paint, CTR-V to paste into active paint area then trim to your heart's desire...

1) Switch on your photocamera 2)take a picture of the screen, 3) then connect the camera to your PC by USB cable 4) download the picture to your hard disk.
this is possible only if you have a digital camera: if you got an analogic one you have to follow this steps: 3) take the film to a shop to print it 4) once you have the printed picture scan it with a scanner
but this is possible only if you have got a scanner, otherwise you have to ........
well i tried evrything to do with my prtsc button.....nothing!!!!.....then i searched on start button ....typed in snippit tool...within 30 seconds had a perfect screenshot...and just so damn easy to use ....tyvm
