some more details, i wish to live in vegas near the strip. Anyone help out with the suburb names... and maybe roughly how much rent is. Also i would like to see if i could get a job at 1 of the casino's, so is there some sort of licence i need to get? Any and all ideas are needed.

why are you trying to move to vegas and work in the casinos? i have no idea about permits but as with any job prior experience is probably a big plus. Have you looked into working in a casino more local too you before you make such a huge leap overseas

The main reason i wish to move overseas is because of my situation here in Australia, with family and friends (not going so well), i thought that i would work in a casino seing as i love gambling and poker.

i know i dont know about your personal life, etc, but if u love poker, why not save up as much money as possible, and then make an attempt trying to grind it out at the mid-stakes tables.

I know from the countless blogs I read that many pros start like that

its not about money, ive had some big wins recently and the games i normally play i think are medium stakes anyway, 3/6nl holdem and perhaps 1/2PLomaha. Its just that in all honesty i just want to get out of Aus and go live abroad for a while, say 1 or 2 years.

yea or pop over the ditch to nz, i dont think there will be any legal issues, and i think that nz is the one place ppl will be gauranteed to know that your accent is australian Big Smile . And be careful about looking to work in casinoes, just because i know in nz the dealers are never allowed to play, because they would have an unfair advantage over the patrons since they watch them all the time

thats one job id love to do is be a croupier but i dont think id be allowed for legal reasons nothing major but but still they have very tight security measures in csinoes and any inflictions with the law for what ever reason is not allowed funny really since they were started back in the day by gangsters dont you think

Marco what are you looking for? I believe you have to file for a permi to come here. And most likely your going to work here so you need to file a working card. Obv passport.

And where are you looking at moving to, like what part of the US

and I take offense to anyone talking bad about my country, lets keep it out of the chat

Marco, i must apologize for my fellow countryman. He forgets that we deliberately keep this country boring and under populate. That we keep wages low and the cost of living high. All this so we can keep it to ourselves. When it comes migration, we tend to export rather then import.Particularly in the case of Australia.
I further suggest the he give himself 5 swift uppercuts.

Sorry, i dont mean to hijack this thread but to answer Goldenstud92. To use a colonial term.....i was taking the piss. New Zealand is a great place place to visit and a great place to live. But it is.....how can i say it....... behind the rest of the world. But the fact of the matter is, is that wages are low compared to the cost of living. Especially here in the south. As for housing, i see we now have the most expensive house prices ,relative to income ,in the western world. Also , we are slightly bigger than the UK but only 4 million people as compared to their 60. So our economy is small.
On the upside, it is safe to walk the streets. I live in one of our major cities (big town really) and don't need to lock my door when i go out. And, i quiet often go to bed, leaving the car unlocked and the keys in it. Stupid i know, but it ain't been stolen yet.
As for swift uppercuts. ....Uppercut is a boxing term for a punch under the chin.'
