PokerStars has today revealed Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's next opponent in the SuperStar Showdown series; none other than Canadian Team PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu.
According to the PokerStars Blog, the two will face off on two consecutive Sundays, starting March 20th and ending on March 27th.
The meeting will be the first in the series to be played over two rounds, and will see both players sit down with $150,000 available on four tables of $50/$100 NLHE in each round.
As usual, the number of hands is set at 2,500, with stacks from the first round bering carried over to round two and another 2,500 hands one week after.
I had posted a screenshot of Daniel playing 3 tables awhile back and he has recently been spotted at Pokerstars doing this. As he says it's like a baseball player taking practice swings before he goes to bat. I think this will be one awesome match and this one is spread over two weeks same stakes same number of hands. I'll be watching on the rail and not that I hate Isildur but I love to see Negreanu take him out in a embarrassing way. Go Poker Kid.

I try to be optimistic about this, but i just can´t. Negreanu will not have any chance agains Victor "isildur" Blom. Negreanu smallball tecnique will not work agaist isildur and negreanu will encounter a tornado named isildur.

Wow! I like Daniel but I think this is a big mismatch and potentially very embarassing if he gets demolished like I think he will. Hopefully Daniel puts up a good fight and shows the kid a thing or two...or not. Do you hear a train Daniel? Time to get off the tracks...

Time will tell my $$$ is on Daniel as Isilidur may be like a tornado that lasts a couple of mins and does damage I think Negreanu will be like a hurricane with sustained winds blowing Isilidur all around lol. But remember last week Isilidur won by a simple $10 blind to an amateur. And him playing at lower stakes is no excuse.I made a POLL this is getting interesting. CrazYhorse

A lot of Negreanu fans, as am I. I vote for Negreanu, but honestly this seems more Isildur´s thing, so I fear it will go the other way. Still going to root for my favourite!

nice post and poll crazyhorse though i dnt like isildur and hype around him and would love negreanu to win but i think negreanu might lose this one. isildur's over aggressiveness can be difficult to tackle for daniel. but lets see what happens, gonna be interesting one for sure

I hope Negreanu takes his head out of the clouds and puts Isuldur back on earth. That's where Isuldur's been the last month's. Still gotta agree with Tormulainen: He's a big favourite to take this one down. Nice post, Crazyhorse.

BIG Negreanu fan. I love his style of play and his uncanny way of reading people. That is a skill that you only learn in live poker playing. Go big dan!!!

I think Negreanu is the better player of them, mainly due to hi is fantastic of reading opponents, but I´m not sure he will be as skilled of reading online though.
Negreanu's ability to put a person on a hand is uncanny, while Isidur is relentless aggression. I think that brains will beat out brawn 90% OF THE TIME so advantage Negreanu.

Guys, this game is like putting prime Michael Jordan into a wheelchair and make him play vs the champion of para-basketball (or whatever it's called). I'm sure Jordan would lose too...
