hey guys,

i just registered an account at moneybookers. verified my address earlier with the letter i received from them..i thought i'd try the service to make a little deposit for my fulltilt account.just a few dollars.try to see what happens..

anyway, when i tried to upload funds using a credit card, i got a message saying i can't use moneybookers to make payments to poker and casino sites from where i registered my account (the philippines)...my question to you guys is,is this really strictly implemented?

i know this sounds stupid...but is this some rule/reminder for every new account which is really not enforced? did you get this message when you registered but still made a successful deposit to a poker site?

do they (poker sites) make it as discreet as possible like when you use western to deposit at stars?..i sent my deposit to stars to a woman's name they provided and sent it to costa rica...or is it a country-specific rule like for us here in the philippines and maybe some other countries as well?

i have only tried western union to deposit money in a poker site.i have no idea how to use these payment processors to fund poker accounts.

any help would be much appreciated Smile

Good question! I'm wondering the same thing. I tried using my Visa at FT and Moneybookers. I afraid to give out my router from my bank accounts. I will watch your thread to see what kind of replies you get. I know jovicakralj has tried to help me by providing info, but I can't figure it out. Guess I'm a dummy and to scraed to use other technique. Good Luck

green,

my problem is that, if moneybookers will indeed deny me to make a deposit to poker site because of my country of registration, then i really don't have anything to do really with moneybookers..i don't shop online or pay anything online that's why i'm having second thoughts right now uploading money to moneybookers...unless of course some of our fellow mobsters knows a way around the rule (if they encounterd the same rule as well prior to depositing)

flex, hopefully some of the other Mobsters will reply with some good input. I know what you mean about shopping on line. I don't do this either. I'm considering doing the bank router. I'll post later once I check into it tomorrow. Good Luck

so why dont you find a friend in another country that also have moneybookers, you can send him money to his moneybookers and he then transfer you the money to your pokeraccount, it works on some sites.

I don't know if it's good advice to try circumvent the system. What about when you want to withdraw? You probably won't be able to withdraw to your Moneybookers account if you weren't allowed to deposit and then you'd have to trust a friend in another country to send you the cash? Risky.

Is your country allowed at the Poker Site even?

I used Moneybookers for two years now, and I got a letter at my address and so I verified my Moneybookers account, I have a Mastercard but they won't verify it, I don't know why?
No problem for me, because I can deposit and also withdraw money into or from pokersites. The only pokersite that rejected my deposit through my Moneybookers account was Party Poker, because my country was not eligible for depositing into their site. All other big rooms like PS and FTP accepted my deposit and I already withdraw my winnings from PS to my MB account without a problem. So I say that MB is still good for me concerning depositing/withdrawing in/from pokersites. Blink

there are some countries which moneybookers don't support for gambling transactions

these are the restricted countries: USA, China, Israel, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and your country the Philippines (but I'm sure that the Philippines weren't restricted in the past)

Now I have been using moneybookers for the longest of time and always have funds in there just in case I spot some good tourney or good deposit bonus. Now sometime last year I was in Philippines and I tried to use my moneybookers to deposit into Mermaid Poker and they said that my account is fine but because I am in a restricted country, Philippines, so I couldn't make the deposit. So I used www.hidemyass.com and the problem was solved.

I think ,You might have to go in Your Bank office and tell them, tha You want to use this card for online payments and game sites. That is what I had to do in SPAIN...To Autorize the bank to let the sistems make the charge.....Hope this information will be usefull for You.

but as far as i know, the bank doesnt know what you do with the money anyway. cause at my bank the only thing i see is, that moneybookers got money from my account, but never what i use it for at moneybookers.

that's too much hassle for me and i don't want to involve a friend just because i want to gamble a few dollars away. plus, if ever i need to withdraw, that would be another problem on its own...thanks for the input anyway Smile

yup ..all the big sites are allowed in my country. even some lesser known rooms..actually the problem here is not the depositing and the withdrawal...i have other options to deposit and withdraw.but moneybookers offers the easiest (and cheapest) way for me to deposit and withdraw to any site if it's an option i could use here in my country.

Moneybookers has to enfore money laundering and other international rules.
I you can transfer from your bank to a poker site from the Philippines, then there must be some other problem.

Make it easy on yourself and just send them an e-mail with you questions regarding any problems.
That´s what I do, and my answer comes in the mail. Blink
