We all would like that it would be a "sport". Nowadays we could even call poker a sport just like chess, brigde and other games.
But as far as we know the word "disporte" was used by French in IX century and it means recreational and physical activity. So I think that medival they would call Poker a game.
But in todays terms it's a sport and it should be played during Olimpic Games.
