FINALLY !
Binked a game last night - last 4 days or so I've been running like a complete dog, have literally bubbled soo many tourneys - busting out when villains hitting 2 outters etc.. just complete run bad..
Well - finally the variance swung back in my favour - obviously for the most part I played well also, but I had a couple incredibly lucky hands on the FT (I gave very bad beats).
Firs one - we're down to 7 players - I'm sitting 6th or 7th with around 40K with 1K/2K blinds, folds to me on the button and I raise to 10K with 99. small blind folds and big blind flat calls.. Flop comes 56Q rainbow.. bb checks it to me, I tank for a bit - weigh up my options - so far only one over and I don't really want to see more cards - so I shove - bb snap calls with QQ for a set of queens.. I think, well thats me out, turn comes 7 and river bring the 8 completing my runner runner straight. OMFG !
a bit later down to 3 players - everyone has around 100K-200K in chips - extremely aggressive play at this point - if anyone puts in a raise anyone with a pp or ace and a wide range of hands is shoving over the top.. I pick up 99 again on the button, there's a small raise from sb and bb flat calls.. if I shove here I pick up a LOT of chips if they both fold - plus I have decent EV against most the calling ranges I've seen so far - so I ship it in, sb folds and bb - same villain as before - snap calls with 1010 !! Anyway manage to take that down with a runner runner flush - this time the river actually gives villain her set of 10s whilst completing my backdoor flush.
Then there were 2 - at this point we both had roughly 200K - after about 30min of intense heads up play - I get it in with 66 vs 10J and my pp holds after a scary 893 flop ! And I secure a $523 victory !
Putting my total MTT cashes for March @ around $3.5K - minus probably about $1K in buyins.

Runners? The AA hand killed me I had about 238K before the hand, blinds were 2500-5000, we got it all in pre flop, he was playing alot of pots, that's why I gave hime action, the last hand was maybe a bit tilt, and frustration, I was out of position, but the guy(aggressive player that took me out, not same player I lost too with AK) had just started raising , an being aggressive for about 10 hands straight, I was a little frazzled opened for 15000, he reraised to 40000, I believe, flop577, I shipped it on him knowing he didnt have a made hand.... NM I can do about not holding up, I'll ship it everytime I think i have the best of it and there's a pot worth winning out there, I'm playing for first!
------------ after I lost to the ace I had just a little over 100K...In the deuces hand I started with maybe 118,000ONly thing that mattered in that hand is he had more! lol

Runners == no# of entrants.. Like "this Crazy freeroll has 20.000 runners !"
Yeah - that's pretty unlucky with both hands.. I dare say you played them both right, maybe as you say - a little tilted on the 2nd - although it looks like your read was correct..
That's the thing though in MTT - you need a lot of luck to make it through to the top 1-5 places where the good money is. Not just luck like in my post - but also luck where your hands that are 60% fav hold up like 3-4 times in a row etc..This is why I prefer to play on PKR - most of the games I play have only around 100-300 runners max.. generally around 100 actually - except if I play games during the peak euro hours - in which case 200-400. But still small field compared to PS/FTP - it lowers the variance significantly plus allows for a more lenient bankroll management as a direct result..

Means I get to play a $5K freeroll (max 1000 runners - variable stacks based on rankings - normally 400-500 runners). I get one $5K freeroll for each SNG and MTT !

Wow not to bad really, Grats from me ! I never tried to play a bounty tournament. Is it more aggressive play, because of the money one can win to bust someone out ?

Congrats man.. that's a sweet return.. I prefer the small field games.
I'll prob give a miss on the tourneys tho.. plus they've already started.. Maybe down the track if something similar starts again..
