In case some of you didn't know.......  0
Just in case some of you didn't know, there are age old rules in place in poker, mainly for the safety of the player and to keep the enviornment friendly, known as "poker etiquette". With so many new players due to the popularitry of poker in the last few years, I thought it might be good to share. No one wants to get unlucky, and then have someone berrate their play afterwards. Until next time Mobsters, Same Mob time, Same Mob Channel.

Don´t take it to heart Hoodi.
I think green gets pretty psyched up in these games and probably doesn´t fully realise what he said.
But I shouldn´t speak out of turn.
Just give it some time and all will be righted, i´m sure. Blink

Dont take it personally.... in the end we all out to get each others money there. I wouldnt sweat it and let it ride. When money is on the line and its "do or die" some people get amped up.

Like I said, dont take it personally my friend Thumbs Up

Haha - this is probably a good reason why I shouldn't play these games, give me a few bad beats, a couple scotches and a keyboard and I'll be abusing the whole table in no time...

All good advice my friends. I supposse I was still a little steamed when I posted this, but you must admit this is a not often talked about, yet very important aspect of the game, IMO. I did take it a little personally at first I supposse, but no hard feelings Green. I ussually tell someone that busts me up to tell their friends how easy it was, but I supposse they will all know eventually! Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Apparently I missed out on the conversation after getting busted out. Had to concentrate on my PP game. I won't ask, sure it doesn't matter now anyway. Play on Mobsters. Good luck on and off the felt...

But isnt it strange that the person who acts the most like an a*****e always wins ?

"Cursing is good for you!
Yup. It turns out that swearing has real and important psychological functions.
Its immediate impact is to lessen tensions and release frustrations. When you're really pissed (note, not 'p*ssed') when some donk-brain sucks out on you on the cash bubble, it's psychologically uplifting to let loose with a couple of juicy 'expletive deleteds.'
There is, in addition, a secondary gain of even more significance (from the point of view of smoothing social interactions) --- the release of tension also makes it less likely that you'll resort to physical abuse." According to research carried out by Timothy Jay a psychologist at the Massachusetts College.
So fook your post, fook your etiquette and fook your entire game.

I think it's very immportant to have a respectable demeanor at the table. It also helps to keep you poised when taking thos bad beats. I'm use to a bad player telling me I'm a donkey when my hand holds up, yet I had the best hand the whole time.....If he gets lucky I tell him nice hand, I don't want to make him mad enough to start playing good. This past sunday I raise my BB and flopped two pair, I got all the money in on the flop up against ace high no pair, the board paired on the turn and an ace hit the river for me to lose to a bigger two pair for those of you who missed it. The player then decided to make the comment "Well I didn't like how he played anyway", this is just bad etiquette, hence my thread outlining some of the common knowledge rules of poker etiquette. Glad you were able to utilize it.

If nothing else these are good rules to conduct yourself in all manner of situations, not just poker. Trash talk (in a fun way) is the one thing I feel is missing from online poker, it's hard to get the tone right across through text.
