I have read a lot about this and it seems that the sites were trying to cheat uncle sam out of some cash, but most importantly, it was discovered by an amatuer player that thought he was being cheated! They did some digging and it looks like there have been some shading things going on. I can tell you first hand that ive noticed some players calling on hands that are 1000 to 1 and higher! I could never understand how people would make some calls with their tournament life on the line with garbage, and then hit! I hope that they get these people and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law! Poker is, and always will be a game of chance, but if people are able to see your hole cards..........GET EM BOYS!

Not sure where you're going with this? Are you worried about all countries banning online poker or just the USA? Or are you concerned about cheating?
In any case, I can say that I've found skillful play still very profitable and on the plus side with a no deposit bonus there's nothing to lose. That's where I got my start.

Sometimes you see play that makes you wonder. Although i find cheating hard to believe on poker sites it does make you wonder sometimes like i said.

It is more the department of justice. Stars, Tilt and Absolute are targeted. Does have anyone from the US accounts at other rooms (Merge, Cake)? Do they still accept players from the US?

yea thats what i thought they may reduce the prizepool soon but there is still 83k on pstars just now at 9am so them going busto is far from the case i believe

No, I didn't actually think so either. I just like to write the word "busto".
Although I read somewhere (and it is of course not true) that they were going to get fined quite heavily. (The reason I write that it is not true, is because the sum 3 billion $ was mentioned, for the three sites, which is quite an odd statement when noone seems to know antything, or especially much, anyway.)

What's going on here is back in 2006 our goofball president Mr. Bush signed a bill called the UIGEA which stands for unlawful internet gambling enforcement act. PP pulled out right away but PS, FT, & Absolute kept letting U.S. players play at there poker sites thinking they were safe if they weren't located in the USA and on foreign soil. But that isn't the point the FBI and USA government is saying these sites ignored this law and allowed USA players anyway. So it took them sometime to get things in order to get these people legally and now they did it and got them. It's going to interesting with the results of all this. That about sums it up from what I know and sad to say screw the country I live in the USA meaning the government for taking away our freedom of speech and rights I just wonder what's next. I didn't want this war in Iraq spending trillions of dollars where they could of used that money on cancer research and things like that not killing people or having our guys getting killed and now they have this priority with online poker wtf is wrong with them.

Just remember crazyhorse, it's not the majority of the people in our country, just the ones who run this F***ing country. All countries have their issues and idiocies, but the peolpe who have to deal with their dictations are generally good. Off course that normal people have nothing to do with that s**t! I dont want to somebody get me wrong... I have nothing bad to say about American people. People are crowd that cant do anything about it. You have 100 powerful persons (more or less-depends of size of country) that runs everything. They give money to all politicians and they decide what will president and government will do. You go and vote but it doesnt matter for which president you vote-its same, because those powerful people give money for all candidates! And that is same in every country. Bad thing is that lot of Americans dont understand that and they dont care. In every war in this world things are not black and white! They are grey! Every side in every war thinks that doing right thing... And you see someone bombing other side because of someone wanted so or because of interest! And politicians live after war, normal people die! I didnt heard that Gadafi is dead! I hear that lot of workers, womens, children die... Same is in Iraq, Vietnam, Yugoslavia...

I know and what you state has logic. Your right notthing everyday people can do, but they are the ones who pay, with there lives, there money and there childrens future. I'm just frustrated about all of this. Also, the big picture is way beyond this little poker scandal. I wish the people that dictated the world had to live it the way most of us have to, not behind closed doors. I'm not very active in the political world due to the people who are voted in still can't do what needs to be done. Sorry, I could carry on!
