Question About Moneybookers  0
Hi all,

I'm setting up a moneybookers account to withdraw my impending points for completeing a gift offer. And I had a question I couldn't find in their FAQ. Also shame on Moneybookers for making you register to ask questions, a simple email address would suffice.

I was wondering, can I open an account in US Dollars even if I'm a Canadian citizen?

Thank you for you input.

I am from Europe and have an account in $ at moneybookers. So i see no problems for a canadian to have one there too if moneybookers offers its service to canadians.

You can choose any currency you want for your MB account during registration, but it's once and for all and you are not allowed to change it then.

Moneybookers is great. Fast, efficient and cheap or free, depending.
You can open a USD account, no problem.
Just make sure you decide when signing up which currebcy you want, you can´t change it later, like daraspol says.

They guys are right, you can open an account on any currency you desire. I actually think you can change the currency if you contact the moneybookers support but i'm not 100% sure.
When i made my account it was set on my national currency and i didn't changed it but later i found out that it's not really that important on which currency you are making the account.
When you withdraw money it's automated converted in your national currency, for instance if you make your account on united states dollars when you'll withdraw funds with your mastercard from moneybookers in canada the money will be automatically transformed in canadian dollars on the atm.
Anyway, i strongly recommend to make a moneybookers account, it's very safe.

Yes, i thing you can open the account with any money you want. Mostly people opens moneybookers as euros and netteller as dollars don't have idea why is that, but if you request money to your bank account they change it to currency what you use it on your bank account. Worship

This thread really got me intrigued so i logged in in my moneybookers account to see all the details and i have some new news from you. First of all you can make an account on any currency you want.
You can only change your account currency after you made your account if you didn't made a transaction yet. Don't try to make a new account under any circumstances, your account will be banned, your funds forfetited and you'll never be able to use moneybookers for life.
Also i strongly suggest to make your account in your country currency(canadian dollars), all their internal currency have a 1,9% fee...

Awesome thanks for the heads up guys. I sent moneybookers an email to clarify the Canadian thing (I know Netteller doesn't allow canadians, I hope not Money bookers too).

Also I had to find a merchant account email address as they are bent on making you register before giving out their email address for some bizzare reason.

I'll let you know what they say.

I just signed into my moneybookers account for a transaction and i searched to see whats about canadian customers. Unfortunately i didn't saw Canada in the eligible countries for moneybookers.
Not sure if you got the answer from them but i'm afraid you can't do an account there.
I saw and know for sure that only european countries customers can opt for the moneybookers mastercard, all other countries are banned.
It would be a shame not to be available to your country, it's such a easy method to deposit or withdraw funds from your poker account especially when linked with the mastercard.
Keep us posted on the answer you'll got from them.

Hey thanks for that (even though it wasn't what I was hoping to here). I haven't heard back from them officially yet so I'm still hoping, but from the sounds of it you're probably right.

Man If I can't use Netteller or Moneybookers, it's gonna be rough. Most banks here don't seem to allow it and if they do they charge a hefty premium. Currently using instadebit (which is awesome) but not widely accepted.

I'm currently looking into to Click2Pay as well, the only drawback is it isn't accepted everywhere either. But that's ok, I'll probably end up using it to expand my options some (especially if Moneybookers doesn't give Canada some love).

I'll let you know.

If you cant use either Neteller or Moneybookers your only and last chance is Kickoffpoker.
you can get your money there play some hands and then withdraw.
a prepaid card that allows to be charged in more places besides issuing bank is always a good option

I am from the US and currently having a bad experience with Moneybookers. I signed up for an account back in February. I made a first deposit into a casino. I waited for moneybookers to verify my account and withdraw the money from my bank. I checked with live chat once a week and was told it would be verified within the week. That was in February and the account still has not been verified nor has the money been withdrawn from my account. I spoke with Live Chat on Friday and was told that they had a backlog of verifications from the month of Feb and would get to my account within the week. I have been waiting all this time so I can make another deposit and can't because my account has not been processed. I am not too happy with moneybookers at this time and think this is poor business practice. Disagree

Thanks for the tip Mober I'll definitely look into it. And thanks for confirming that GIOMi6.

Sergeant, Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear you aren't having the smoothest start. Have you got things resolved? Or are you still having an issue?

Also did you make sure that the site you're applying to will accept US Players? A lot won't.

Let us know.

Hi Samura, and welcome to Bank Roll Mob. Thanks for all that, it's very clarifying. Just out of curiosity, I noticed a lot of personal pronouns there. Do you work for or with Moneybookers? Or are you just very familiar with their service.

Thanks again.
