To be honest, if I was you I won't chance playing anywhere. Freerolls sure go ahead if you can get in them. I personally wouldn't be depositing anywhere. Just a matter of time before the ban hits every American account on every site. This thing won't be over any time soon. Apparently some Canadian accounts have been effected. Mine hasn't as of yet. The only quick solution to this problem, is for the sites to pay off your American Government. Can you see this happening? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Interesting question. Have to start a bolg on that very subject....

Posted by djhempey: any suggestions on where I can play real $ poker in the usa?
In your basement with your poker buddies, well hidden behind thick curtains., But it sucks because you must have several watchouts that can warn you in time if the SWAT makes a raid...

I switched to Players Only at the moment, they have a few Free-rolls up and running atleast, put in a request for NDB for them and Bodog too. Good Luck!

No offense Colynjames, but nopaypoker.com had too much adware for my taste, and it being browser based means I can't use Hold'em indicator. Along with the ridged animations, i give it a 3/10. =/ Sorry. Just a little review i thought someone would appreciate.

It's definitely ad-based, but you can actually use your account winnings to remove the ads and upgrade your account. I don't like the ads, and no, you won't be using tools on the site, but it's free and you actually win real money.
I've actually found that getting away from all the tools and overlays used on other poker clients makes me think and read better. It's nice to have data on your opponents, but it's not necessary to win.
The reason I do like NoPay is that you can play cash games...it's not limited to tournaments to win cash. You can play real cash at any level. And, again, it's free. You don't have to upgrade to win real money or play in other types of games. Your rate of exchange is different, but other than that, you play the same games with no subscriptions.
I only listed it as an option. I fully expect the majors to be back eventually in the USA, but in the mean time, the "club" based companies are going to be the least likely to ban us players. All these other real money poker rooms are probably going to be getting hit just like the big boys soon.

Posted by colynjames: I've been playing at a free site...I've won and been paid. If you're a good poker player, you can build your bankroll quickly on everything from tournaments, sit and go's and cash games. There are some donks, but the quality of play goes up all the time. Check it out:
**REMOVED**
First, site is s**t, but if you dont have anything else guess its OK. Second, Colynjames THAT IS REFERRAL LINK! And that is not allowed!!! You can be baned for this...

But guess Cereus and Merge are best options by far.
Cereus is the network formed by Absolute and UB So they are out. But Cake, Bodog, Merge and Everleaf are still in business. But no one knows if there will be a second wave of closures.

I'm pretty sure US players can still play on Cereus, unlike FTP & Stars - Cereus are NOT complying with the FBI as of this time.

they are the biggest joke site possible, liars to the core you can only win play money there, only cashout is via netellers which US people cant use or thru real money sites where they offer worst deals possible. "club" - theres no club there , only people who abuse their "power" no real poker player wud play at that software full of bugs and viruses, so please dont insult us all here
anyway they are affiliate site offering deals at other real money sites, so go post ur trash links elsewhere ..................................... btw all the trouble u going to get referrals is not worth it cos you wont earn anythin if ur referral wins. only way is them cashing thru netellers which 99% wont do. so u r just putting hole in ur own boat =))
