There are no Romans? Why should there be Romans in Monaco?

I don't know if you guys remember but the other last two years when he had those huge swings, he started the same. At the beginning of the year he won 2 or more million dollars and at the end of the year he started to lose big. I railed him couple of times, he doesn't really plays all hands, he plays a lot, it's true but not really any hand.
But again he mostly plays pot limit omaha so there is a lot wider range of cards that can be played in comarison with no limit holdem. Every hand that is double suited, it has good connectors or a pair and conectors worth being played on pot limit omaha. As for his personal life i'm not really interested in that.

He is a very good poker player, every ones in a while you get unlucky at the tables, but now he is getting good variance

of course he is a maniac, he can deny all he want but he knws too hes too aggressive and thts why crazy swings. hes having good year and hope he dnt hit a downswing and spoil it all.

He is definitely not that aggressive as many are saying.. He is in fact quite good at analyzing the pot compared to his own chances and by that, most of the pots he plays are only expecting about 30 % chance of winning Smile Quite many hands can play at that rate Smile

Unfortunately he started to lose money again. In the last 36 hours poker tracking sites show that he lost over $200.000, well it's not that much compared to over 4 million dollars that he won this year alone. As i'm typing this message he is still online playing against ronnyr37617 on the 200/600$ pot limit omaha tables from full tilt poker. On the other hand the biggest winner on the online poker was another full tilt poker pro that also lives in monaco as Gus Hansen, it's Patrik Antonius. After a hard start in 2011, it seems Patrik finally started to make some profits. In the last 36 hours poker tracking sites show that Patrik Antonius won over $360.000($361.464 to be more precise). The day is not over yet but i doubt many things will change. I'll keep you guys posted on Gus's online evolution.

He was playing like a maniac for a while, if you play almost every hand,
your playing on luck. But he is a very good player and wise enough to
tighten his play, and is now on the right track again.
Wow seems like you watch a lot of poker, Macubaas Smile Cool

Well, he is a "maniac", but sometimes you need this kind of player on your table,
specially on tournament.

Yes, i do watch a lot of high stakes poker, i don't just watch poker i also learn a lot from these pros, i personally preffer watching than reading a book and i can assure you that after some time you really start to get a good feel of the game and beting patterns on individual pro poker players. Now back to the sick 300/600 dollars plo tables at full tilt poker. I hate bragging myself but it seems i was right, Gus Hansen is seriously titlted and lost a lot yesterday. In just 36 hours Gus Hansen lost $ 471.327 and finally decided to stay away from the tables. It seems odd but he wasn't the biggest loser. That place was taken by Skjervoy who lost in the last 36 hours $ 1.113.652, may say that this is almost 40% of his bankroll. Now the big question is of course who was the big winner. That was Ingenious89 who is up $ 960.000 and Patrik Antonius who is $ 590.000 up.

It must be great if you can afford losing amounts like that Smile It seems every time
Gus has a big bankroll again he starts to play his loose-maniac style.
I know you can learn from watching high stakes poker, but u must keep in mind that
when you play Macubaas( no live high-stakes?), your oponents are playing
differen't than the players you watch, so sometimes you have to alter your
play to the level of players your playing with. Keep posting those high-stakes stories,
i enjoy reading them Cool

Gus is great, i have probably watched the 2007 Aussie millions like 20 times not my choice just limited poker on TV and always the same repeats annoying.

Here we aren't talking about no limit holdem or limit holdem, he reffered to pot limit omaha. For those who don't know he is a regular at the full tilt poker high stakes plo tables. In no limit holdem you can evaluate the strenght of your hand pretty good from beginning. On the other hand in pot limit omaha a hand that seems very strong like AAKK double suited for example can prove to be very week on a flop that has three cards of the same colors but none of them from your hand and so on. Of course a strong omaha hand must be double suited and have a pair or connected cards.
He lost a lot lately indeed but that is less compared to over 4 million dollars that he won from the beginning od year 2011. I'll watch his evolution closely and report back.

The good thing for winning players is that some people watch a few hands of Gus or for example Isildur and think "oh, this is so easy, I'll do the very same thing and I'll win". And they make deposit, they join cash tables and they lose their money Smile

lol, are you not a maniac on the tables.
