The version of the FBI, Costa Rica - called the Office of Judicial Investigaciones (IJO) - conducted a raid today in the offices of UB and Absolute Poker sites.
Besides the interest in cooperating with the investigation of the U.S. Justice Department in investigations of Black Friday, local sources indicate that the cause of action is also labor, because the sites are not paying their employees. On the beat, documents and computers were seized.
In addition to offices, the homes of some suspects were also investigated, including the home of one of the owners of AB / UP, Tom Scott, who was not found.
The offices of PokerStars - which maintains a base in the country, mainly to support staff - were also investigated, but these were quickly released and its employees could return to work.
Apparently, PokerStars was not investigated because the OIJ feared that they had the same attitude as their competitors
